The whole original premise of the show was horror. crashing on an island that cna't be found with a mysterious smoke monster that can throw people around? and "others" randomly picking people off and knowing details about the people who crashed.

no suspense is "Whats gonna happen next?" usually horror is also suspense but you can have suspense without horror.

i really wish i could find something other than wikipedia to quote, but it's pretty accurate here. lost is, was, and always will be a drama. the creators had to pitch the idea to ABC as a drama because there is no way they would've gotten the green light had they discussed the sci-fi elements of the show. yes, there is time travel, mysterious black smoke that can manifest itself as dead people, and an island that has unexplainable healing properties, but it's a show about people, relationships and redemption. it's a drama with elements of science fiction and suspense, not the other way around. there is no amount of arguing on your behalf that will prove otherwise.

i guess i should've looked at the right side of the lost wiki and actually clicked the serial drama link before quoting that line, but whatever. refute this before you can consider me owned:

this entire show was built around people, their histories, why they are the way they are, the connections they have with each other, and whether or not they can change. the sci-fi elements of the show are not of more importance than the characters, which are the backbone that supports everything. if you would begin to describe lost to someone who has never seen it with the words "horror" or "science fiction," then you obviously don't get the show.

I say this because roger mentions "we should have stayed" or something along those lines in the most recent episode.

no, they didn't leave on it. ben was with the others when roger shot sayid. i wonder if roger could've taken ben off the island after the others returned him and everything that happened with the 815ers in 1977 was part of the alternate reality.

alternate reality is the one where they blew up the pocket. maybe since the abomb blew up the pocket, it didn't kill everyone on the island. somehow something else had to happen later for the island to end up under water.

i think the bomb sinking the island was a reasonable possibility until this last episode for that reason.

it could have been, but it could have happened slowly... perhaps the electromagnetic energy served to help keep the island buoyant, and when it was dissipated via jughead, it slowly began to sink, giving dharma folks enough time to skedaddle...

remember in season one when they had to move their camp because "the tide was coming in" or something like that? perhaps the island partially sank due to the release in energy just before they arrived. (when the plane broke up because desmond didn't press the button on time)
(of course, there was not a corresponding dip in the island that we knew of when energy was released when john locke didn't press the button at the end of season 2.)

i don't think Kate is going to simply go along with MiB once she realizes what's going on. Kate tends to do her own thing. She may hang out as long as it's beneficial or until she can get away. but i don't think she'll go along with whatever he's doing, and I certainly hope not.

I'm not sure about Sawyer "converting to the dark side." But I definitely want to know where he's been lately.
