hahahaha there's one thing I won't forget anytime soon from tonight... for those who didn't attend tonight: right before the national anthem, the color guard was on the ice, and as they were moving into their position on the ice, it was completely silent. 3 or 4 people in the building noticed St. Louis had not taken his helmet off and decided to let him know about it. And when they did that, it could be heard clear as day... TAKE YOUR HAT OFF ST LOUIS -- from a few people. He looked around for a few seconds as if he was speechless or didn't know what to do, then he took it off, and everyone started cheering. It was classic. 11/22/2009 1:23:12 AM |

Yea, I've been talking about studying abroad since I've been in college, but never really acted upon it. Now that I only have a year left I decided to get on the ball. They have a good business school that I want to go to, plus I've heard Copenhagen is pretty sweet.
I researched and found that there are three hockey teams in Copenhagen. But it will be so Epic if I'm able to see a Canes game over there. I'm guessing it would be played in either Sweden or Finland, both of which aren't far from Denmark. 11/23/2009 7:12:35 PM |

What are the chances they send Rod and Cole to Chicago for something like Sharp? Numbers wise it looks OK, and Chicago is clearly trying to win a Cup... Carolina on the other hand... needs to consider getting younger 11/24/2009 11:42:24 PM |
Vulcan91 All American 13893 Posts user info edit post |
Absolutely impossible. The numbers don't work (Brind'Amour + Cole = $6.5 million cap hit while Sharp = $3.9 million) and Chicago is stuck up against the cap. More importantly, they are both under contract next season and there is no way Chicago would want to be saddled with their contracts for next season. Even more importantly, they both (definite for Brind'Amour questionable for Cole) nearly have negative trade value at this point because they are awful given their salaries. 11/24/2009 11:46:32 PM |

I know, but you know my disdain for both players. Is it time to consider rebuilding at this point? 11/24/2009 11:51:33 PM |
Vulcan91 All American 13893 Posts user info edit post |
I am right there with you, but the problem is our trash is just as much another team's trash. The only hope for Rod Brind'Amour is that he retires at the end of the season. There may still be someone willing to take Cole, though.
It's past time to start rebuilding IMO. 11/24/2009 11:59:22 PM |

thank goodness sutter turned out to be a great pick
if some time in the AHL helps boychuk the way it did sutter, we'll be in business. add in a potential top pick and the hope that Bowman and some other Rats are ready for primetime and we have a good place to start.
plz 2 extend pitkanen in the offseason 11/25/2009 12:53:15 AM |

If Cole can generate some production from now to the deadline, we may be able to ship him off to a dumb team for a marginal prospect or a late pick, even with another year on his deal. There are players in the league with far shittier contracts than his that expire long after his does.
This is all assuming Cole could actually produce, which I don't expect to happen. And if it were to happen, we'd (read: the staff, JR, Cole fanboys, not me) be happier than pigs rolling around in shit to keep him around for another year and wouldn't likely consider trading him off.
Brind'Amour is done. Plain and simple. He needs to give it up immediately, and if not now definitely at the end of the year. We couldn't ship him off to anyone for free.
BRIND'AMOUR AND A PICK FOR NOTHING?!??! 11/25/2009 8:26:39 AM |
