Barnes and CJ Leslie both have a problem with knowing what a good shot is. Leslie has way more athleticism, though.

I don't get UNC. They can get anyone they want, but Roy just seems to be making mistakes in the recruiting game (not unlike K did for five years or so when Duke was the all whites). Athleticism and skill will always trump skill.

UNC cant shoot for shit, and their PGs still suck. Unfortunately, the ACC will be down this year, so they should have a better record than last year. We better beat them at least once this year.

It's not that he doesn't pick good players, but they just don't seem to be fitting together well, and he isn't the best at fixing/correcting problems

^^^ that's not true, he did pick ty lawson, kirk heinrich, aaron miles, etc after all. however, he has had some really bad recruiting misses lately, including the Wheres at the top of the list. drew is awful, strickland is a poor man's ginyard, and zeller is as soft as cottonelle. barnes will be a good player, but he was insanely overhyped and it is showing something fierce. i think marshall and bullock will be really good players before they leave, but the combination of inexperience and inane substitution patterns have held them back. shockingly, we really miss will graves on the outside to at least keep the defense honest. right now we have no one who can reliably hit a 3 pointer.

another thing about marshall is that he isn't a burner, but he always keeps his head up and looks to pass ahead, which is the exact opposite of drew. however, i really believe that roy needs a felton, lawson, or knight type to lead his offense. roy's main flaw is stubbornness, and if he believes a kid has even the slightest hint of impropriety (cough:: john wall ::cough), then he won't bother recruiting him.

^ by the time irving exploded, he'd already accepted an offer from marshall. i think irving showed interest, but that ship had sailed long before.

I don't necessarily feel bad for Barnes with the overrated chants and whatnot, but he's in a crappy situation. I can't imagine what CJL would be doing tomorrow in Wisconsin if our team got anywhere near the amount of attention that UNC gets, given the season he has had.
