Fucking gutting

Birmingham, this, and the inevitable loss to United in the FA Cup on Saturday is going to be too much for me to take in the span of a few weeks

wow watching the higlights of the other game...if you guys were mad at rooney's elbow in play, danielle de rossi just caught a guy deliberately with a right cross that howard webb somehow missed...very curious to see if uefa would do something about it after the game

I always thought of him as the dirtiest player on the Italian national team

and that's saying a lot

i kept watching the stream from the last game and they showed highlights there. itll be on footytube eventually. it got shrugged aside with the english commentators, but thats to be expected since they only care about the english teams

i hate de rossi so bad. one of my least favorite players ever.

i just saw that van persie red card, what a stupid card to give. that ref was awful and as much as i dislike arsenal, that sucks.

I've got a serious dilemma. I can't watch the game live tomorrow because of work, so I'm debating what I should do.

A) Rush home and possibly catch some of the 2nd half but spoil the first 60-70 minutes

B) Try and hold on to watch the replay from 8-10 tomorrow with no prior knowledge of the outcome

I don't know if I'll be able to hold out looking up the score for that long though

I wish it was that easy. They're still Milan and they still got some firepower up front.

I'm prepared for it if we get knocked out, but I feel confident that if Spurs come out and bring the game to Milan instead trying to defend that lead, we'll be through to the round of 8.

Lineup I'd like to see tomorrow

Corluka---Gallas---Daws---BAE
-----Palacios------Modric-----
Lennon-------VDV--------Bale
--------Crouch--------------

You could go either way between Palacios or Sandro to sit in that reserved role in front of the CB's and protect them really.

BOLD PREDICTION: Defoe comes on as a super sub and nets the winner, his 100th goal with the club.

[Edited on March 8, 2011 at 10:31 PM. Reason : Also, they're organizing a white out at the Lane tomorrow. Cool.]

I want to see Lennon and Bale switching sides during the game. That could give the opposing full backs all kinds of trouble. Two very different players who have the ability to beat any player in the world one-on-one switching it up on you. They both have strengths on either side too.

Bale is a great crosser of the ball off his left foot but he's also got a rocket shot that he could rip if he cuts inside ala Robben. He likes to hug the touch line a lot though so it might be difficult to get him into the middle of the field. He could also help defending on the weak right side.

Lennon just has the ability to go past anyone on either side with his agility and quickness but his final ball is always lacking it seems. He puts in decent crosses from the right every once in awhile but his best balls come from the edge of the penalty area on the right side after he's already left the defender in his wake. He's accurate with his shots though so he's a really good player that could cut inside and curl some balls into the far post for goals every once in awhile or lay it off for another player.

Just something I would like to see a little bit of to see if it's effective.

GAMEDAY

They were beginning to experiment with that right before Bale went down. If you notice, he also played on the right that 25 minutes over the weekend too. A clear ploy to give Milan something to think about imo. Since they've never seen him before, and he could line up down either flank, Milan really has no idea where he'll be now. Excellent strategery on Redknapp's part. It makes the gameplan that much tougher on them.

If we are able to put Bale on the weakest side back each time out it would be a dream. I just don't know if Lennon would be able to provide quality from the left. He looked much less effective over vs Sunderland and Wolves. I think he literally hates his left foot.

Pienaar isn't playing wide enough I don't think. Bale would be hugging the line and pulling Milan apart. Milan is playing well but if you start pulling them out wide their formation falls apart. They want to play the game down the center of the pitch and that's exactly what is happening.

AND THE BONER RAGES ON

I rushed home and caught the 2nd half. A clean sheet at home vs Milan is quite an accomplishment for this back 4 and Gomes. I thought Pato was going to give me a heart attack on a couple of different occasions.

I mean, my heart was in my throat for the last 30 minutes but that doesn't necessarily translate to an exciting game for me. The game really needed a goal by either side to raise the excitement level. It was hard watching Tottenham get dominated like they did. It's a good win for the defense though. God knows they need it.

Also, I've never seen Assou-Ekotto have a bad game. He never really amazes but he's always consistently solid and he plays every single game. I think he's a really important part of the team.

preciate it mizzo

When do they announce the new draws next week after all eight teams are through?

Plz to avoid Barca. They would rape us.

This feels like a Cinderella run in the NCAA tournament or something.

do what

Quote :
""Over two legs Tottenham had one shot on goal and scored," he said. "The best team doesn't always win.""

This motherfucker. WOLVES put 3 past us just a couple days ago, yet this team couldn't score a single goal over 2 legs and he is still popping off like they are the better side. What a smug piece of shit.

finally found that freakin de rossi shit

and somehow webb gives srna the yellow...wtf is wrong with the refs? i cant understand why either the extra officials cant use their headset things to tell the main ref "hey bud, youre wrong" or how not one of the 4 or 5 refs now misses something like this

im not even sure what webb couldve given srna a yellow for...diving? certainly not for talking to him, since he is the captain. even the best refs are in a plague of shitty decisions and missed calls lately

hmm, interesting tidbit on darijo srna. didnt know much about his personal life, but i always buy him on my manager games. hes excellent as an attacking wingback, but this is pretty cool:

Quote :
"While playing for Shakhtar Srna occasionally bought many tickets for orphans. Besides buying tickets, he also paid for the transport. One time he paid for 920 children,[10] another time he paid for 760 children.[11]

Luis Fabiano goes back to Brasil to play for Sao Paulo for 7.8 million Euros after falling down the pecking order at Sevilla.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3277/la-liga/2011/03/11/2390519/breaking-news-sao-paulo-sign-sevilla-striker-luis-fabiano-in-66m-

Dude couldn't wait until June? Spurs were practically nutting themselves over him last summer. I also don't understand how he can leave outside the transfer window, but whatever.
