Save yourself the effort, this game was horrible. Highlights:

No offense in the second half. Just one 3 and out after another.
The defense won it. But they also let them crawl their way back into the game.
We had touchbacks on a kickoff.

So it was a bizzaro game for us.

I remember back in the day when Wilson was new, he ran ran ran ran ran and then passed. That QB is about the same height and has about the same arm....it is hard to tackle a mobile QB....next year O'Leary will try to make him a pocket passer.............

What changed the game was that the starting QB got knocked out and the very mobile QB took his place, if he had started the game, we would not of won.

My post from page 1. Replace the 3s with 2s and I was all over this Seriously the defense forced some huge turnovers. The offense was anemic. Honestly Russell has not looked that bad since his first couple of games back as a RS freshman. The offensive line is to blame though with horrible blocking in the 2nd half.

We looked terrible on offense the last 2.5 quarters. Defense was okay, just glad Godfrey did not start or we would have lost. Some of the offensive play calls in the 2nd half were just perplexing. Audie Cole with a huge game. Dude is thinner this year and quicker. Next week wil be tough, but very happy we're 2-0 for the first time in a long time.

Also Mike Leach was beyond horrible. "UFC needs to score here, score a TD". You think so jackass? They are down 14 with 4 minutes to go. I'm sure they hadn't figured that out. Oh well that might be the joke of the season, horrible announcers. Warrick Dunn and Mike Leach currently tied for worst.

Yes the D gave up plays in the 4th Q....they played nearly the entire 3rd Q and then got stuck with a fresh legged rushing QB. Last years D would have crumbled and gave up. This D still came at it 100% tired as shit scored the last TD and still made the game saving play. Had they gotten more rest they may not have given up as much in the 4th. They deserve all the credit.

^ Spot on. The offense was so horrible in the 2nd half, the D barely got a break. You could see it in Manning, Irving, the DL, etc. They were tired. Huge play by Bishop (I think) to force the fumble that Manning recovered for the win. If that game had gone to OT, we would have lost.

I was just glad to see the defense very aggressive for once. Lots of blitz packages and pressure on the QBs. We just could not contain Godfrey. Irving started getting to him a bit at the end, but I think he was tired and Godfrey was able to break containment.

I'll take a road win against a decent team (they were favored)...in terms margin of victory, it was about was expecting. I figured it be a close game. I was surprised by how well our D played. That back up QB definitely gave us trouble. But the D stepped up and made plays when we needed them. Looking forward to that Cincy game....hope RW has a little more time throw on Thursday night.

UCF's d seemed pretty dominant. our defense couldn't keep up with godfrey, but did a nice job the first 3 quarters. cole was a beast. regardless of how good or bad UCF's offense is, forcing 5 turnovers is a welcome change.

UCF has some big boys on the DL, they were definitely mad handling our OL. UCF's backup QB looked great and played great. Our offense was seriously out of sync though. Dropped passes, blown blocking assignments, poor play calling, etc so it was a combo of both UCF defense and NC State offense.

I'll be glad when State beats ECU so you can shut the hell up though.

the game is gonna be telecast again tomorrow at noon on CBSCollegeSports.

I saw the last 8 minutes of the game and what I saw was us actually get burned by alot of blitzing. I also thought, man, this must have been what it felt like to be a UNC-CHeater fan and watch Russell just dissect them. You have to play containment against a QB like him. I only saw us on one offensive series but i'll watch it tomorrow.

However, this was a great win. We still put up some points on a very good and sound defensive team who obviously were playing to contain and disrupt RW as much as possible. The D looks like they have answered SOME questions, maybe even alot. Looks like we have a decent Running game as well. We may be tired, hopefully they'll get enough rest, but Cincy (be quiet optimistic voices) looks beatable, so stoked.

Not really. One TD was a INT return by the defense and another was off excellent field position following a punt that was accidentally touched by a UCF player resulting in a fumble recovery for State. Our offense was actually pretty miserable for the last 2.5 Qs of the game.
