So, for someone who knows the rule. The reason it was kick catch interference was because it hit the Clemson player before the ball hit the ground, right? The only other time I've ever seen that was when a returner muffed a punt and the other team immediately caught the ball in mid-air.

^It didn't touch the Clemson player though. I think they called it because it looked like our player wanted to continue running forward to catch the ball but couldn't because the Clemson guy was in the way. Honestly, that probably shouldn't have been a penalty, we got lucky on that one.

I didn't see the ball hit the Clemson player. You can't interfere with the opportunity to catch the kick but he was a good couple yards away and wasn't waving his arms in Graham's face or anything.

The receiving player has to have room to catch the ball unobstructed. That may mean the defender is too close, touches him, guards his face, etc. In this case it looked like the Clemson player just got too close to provide T.J. room to move freely to catch the ball.

Had the Clemson player been that close and TJ caught the ball with no problem, then there would be no penalty.

I'm not positive how the actual rule is worded. In the games I've been at (all SEC, and NC State/Cincy) that is how the rule is enforced...

But yes, if that's not the rule, then that's not the rule.
