likely...a few teams would have a fire sale to get luck. then, 5 years down the road, newton will be out of the league or a career backup, the panthers will have gotten 5-6 extra picks (1-2 of which will actually be productive players) and luck will be a matt ryanesque franchise qb.

^^^remember people were all high on Jake Locker before he decided to come back for his SR year

even though he went #8 overall, i don't think anyone expected it. if he had come out early he was being mentioned as the #1 pick.

Luck lost his head coach, and who knows? this season could blow up in his face. he will likely still be a highly regarded player, but to pencil him in at #1 already would be foolish.
