Definitely a diverse group of songs, with a few that are a lot more dancy than anything I've heard from them

Riding Waves, Pilate, Climbing Towards You (not new), Fairest Ivory, and Dream Sphere are all pretty good tunes IMO

Granduciel hasn't found his own identity as a vocalist; he sounds way too much like Kurt Vile. Maybe it's the other way around? I don't know. Never followed their relationships closely or anything.

One of those songs on the new album is exactly the same as Coming Through and the album in its entirety has this "closed" feeling - meaning there is a structure there on all of the songs except for Baby Missiles which they don't break the confides of (hence, everything sounds very similar). All in all, it's a chill record, but I won't be going to Kings to see them.

Saw an interview where they plan to release the album to itunes 8/8/11 and then in stores a few days later...this way they hope to avoid leaks. We'll see if it works...

I saw them at Hopscotch last year. I think I'll live. The weekday thing where I have to drive 30 minutes and won't get back home til 1-2ish isn't really appealing.

And as for the Light Pines thing, they ruined Come With Us in that recorded version. They always open with that song at shows; like a nervous habit, but it has a lot more life when they play it live. If it's just a demo, then I understand.

Looks like they kinda got the hint. It's only $1 now.
