Some fans, given a choice between losing all games in a season and only beating UNC or winning all games but losing to UNC, would choose the former

i don't understand how the same people who are mad about losing at home to bc expect to beat syracuse on the road.

BC is better than us but you expected to win because we were home. We are only slightly better than Cuse so why do you expect to win on the road?

^At this point, I don't think anybody expects to win anything. There are a few winnable games left. But by no means is anybody feeling like any win is a sure thing.

Relax. We just lost to the best 4 teams in the acc. All we know for sure is that we are not in the top 3rd of the conference but we went toe to toe with half of them.

I know where you're going with this. And next up is Syracuse, and they're #5 in the league.

This is the same Earl that drew the diagrams for Amato's seasons, right?

this division is definitely one of the best after the sec west. its a real gauntlet.

cuse is not good though but they are not incredily shitty since they blew out wake.

the game is on the road though so it wouldn't be a huge upset if they beat us. nothing to act all surprised and grab pitchforks about. I'm just trying to prepare you now and save the despair later.

Our team is depleted at this point and everyone wants to win not just us.

there are 128 FBS teams

Syracuse is 108th in scoring

and they have played against some very shitty defenses, including but not limited to: Villanova, Central Michigan, and Maryland

I'm okay with sitting him for this infraction.

Well Darian Roseboro (our first 4 Star recruit (DT) since Doeren started) played my High School last night (final was 51-8 with Roseboro scoring I think 4 TDs). I had a chance to listen to Roseboro's interview with Rivals and then spoke to his father, mother and Darian after the game. His father said he benches over 500lbs and squats over 600lbs. That bench is insane for a HS football player, but you sort of expect that kind of squat from a guy with this type of size (6'4" 283lbs).

I spoke with Darian for a few minutes and he seemed like he has a good head on his shoulder (he has a 4.0 GPA) and he will definitely be training with the team after he graduates in December he said. He told me he was excited to get to Raleigh and get started. I talked to him about the transition to D1 and it seems like he has had some good coaches/mentors around him based on what he said. As long as he keeps working this guy is going to be a hell of a player for us that we may be starting his first year on the field. You should have seen this guy running the ball, it was pretty entertaining and funny considering he is officially a DT. As long as he can keep his nose clean, I think he has a good shot at doing well in D1.

lol yea, he plays fullback and tailback (mainly fullback). He ran for I think he said 180 yds to Rivals. On defense they use him at DT, DE, Outside/Middle Linebacker so basically everywhere he can possibly be put on the field except special teams. He has some hellacious endurance to be on the field that many minutes, although I could tell towards the end, as the game was obviously out of reach for my HS, he was lightening up. It's hard not to do that though and even players on the highest level do the same (who aren't on the field 90% of the game).

^ I think you are right, when I read the story it must have been the first this year.

Yea, sort of reminded me too. However you can't completely judge a HS player and that is obvious why, they are playing HS opponents, 2A in this case. I bet his HS (Lincolnton) will go at least 2 rounds if not all the way for State Championship. His team doesn't solely rely on him and that is what makes them/him so dangerous. Everyone is focusing on him waiting for him to get the ball, however their WRs and DBs are both very good. Passing against them was just asking for trouble (3 interceptions I think), but my HS did it anyway. Their QB was hitting 20-30 yd passes repeatedly if you only look at possible passing calls. I feel like my HS did not prepare for this team well enough, because they basically just shoved Roseboro down our throats, over and over (which worked).

I have never seen a guy that big move the ball so well, I think he ran one in for a 40+ yd TD. They are definitely using him to his max potential right now (which is good because he will have the endurance needed for D1). The best part, he doesn't arm tackle, he lights people up with a hit and then wraps them up if they aren't laying on the ground. I know the place he is from very well, dated a girl there and my parents were in that county school district (with both of my grandparents still living one). The biggest risk he has been exposed to is going to be meth by far in that area and then pills. I just hope he isn't hiding an injury that we are going to find out in a year or two.

There are a lot of people who do that just to get into college and have a chance to prove themselves and ignore what is wrong (like I did and that worked out perfect...)

I will definitely be looking out for him, but if we play him as a Defensive End or Middle/Outside linebacker he needs to drop some weight. If we only want him to play DT, as he is listed on Rivals, he doesn't need to lose any weight. It is going to be interesting to see where we pick to put him at.

^^I think I've read in interviews and stuff where he's said he plans to play DT at State. Of course, I don't know if that's based on what the coaches have told him or not. I had wondered if we'd try him at DE given his athleticism. But I've never really seen him play...only highlights and stuff.
