The Federal Court of Appeals just said, "Not so fast, my friend!" on most of the tariffs, but delayed enforcement for a while so Trump can be sure to have time to appeal to his always receptive Supreme Court!

I like that he is blowing up narco boats from venezuela. The rare thing I'm not partisan enough to find displeasure with.
9/2/2025 6:50:36 PM
It almost certainly has to do with thishttps://www.pbs.org/newshour/amp/world/guyana-asks-u-s-to-help-boost-its-military-as-territorial-dispute-with-venezuela-deepensExxon is capturing like 90% of the revenue from the new oil wells there too. Venezuela is basically seeing their only leverage evaporate, so theyre threatening to seize the Guyana wells basically.

I guess my partisan response is, do we really trust anything this government tells us, especially with regards to identifying drug dealers and gang members? They can't even get that right with people here, but they nailed it on a boat near south America?I don't know maybe I'm a nut now (ibf "always??")
9/2/2025 7:30:44 PM
I think the counter argument would be "can we really trust everything the dems do either". Yes i know you said anything and i said everything, and thats a fair argument in and of itself
9/2/2025 7:36:24 PM
Sure we can both sides all day but this administration has very publicly lied about this exact subject and refused to back down, with almost nothing to gain and with lots of counter evidence. In this case they have something to gain and I assume we will have little to no verifiable evidence.

Actually, my bad, just saw this(my phone doesn't like to put text on image cropped down so much)

I should totally expect this by now, but I was slightly taken aback when I heard Trump say "Newscum" when referring to the CA governor.
9/2/2025 8:07:04 PM
Maybe I'm just too bleeding heart but also isn't this just an unlawful execution of 11 people? Is drug trafficking a death penalty crime?
9/2/2025 10:18:31 PM
I’m sure it’s technically illegal but who’s going to stop it? Just like the Iran strikes were technically illegal.Trump and maga and probably a big chunk of Americans have a bloodlust. They don’t care about killing people without cause or trial. There’s going to be long term effects of this…definitely puts more people at risk. It’s meant to be a message to maduro, and we all know the trump admin doesn’t have any qualified diplomats to send a message without senseless killing.Democrats are bringing 100 Epstein victims to Congress, Nancy mace left the testimony crying. I’m sure a big factor here is to drown out the new Epstein news. I bet this isn’t the last excessive extreme action they take over the next few weeks. [Edited on September 2, 2025 at 10:26 PM. I feel like we have this discussion every 6 months but legality doesn’t justify or invalidate something. We choose the laws and can change them. Theyre fake. What matters politically is the underlying ethics and then we fit the law to match that. And it’s a perpetual chore. We should all agree though that killing people without due process is wrong, outside a declaration of war or imminent harm. But if it’s true these were drug traffickers (which there’s no currently a shred of evidence for) I could see how someone could rationalize the ethics of this

Boy I don't know maybe it's just me but I would prefer my president not to do crimes

I was wondering the same thing about the drug boat. My dad (MAGA) is all for it. His argument is that of “We’ve got to send a message to the cartels”. While I can’t disagree that we need to take a tough stance on the importation of drugs….our military just basically killed 11 civilians of another country in cold blood. No trial, no judge, no jury.Yet another blurred line.I hope that there were some sort of warnings given before the missile hit the boat.

Extrajudicial killings worked out great for the former President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte. He says hi from The Hague where he's being held for crimes against humanity.

^^^People seem very casual about the retaliations. When trump bombed Iran the first term their retaliation caused serious lifelong injury to soldiers but because no one died the public just dismissed it. But is trump getting the optics of a bold bombing worth dozens of serious injuries? It seems like the same thing here. Trump to feed his toddler sense of foreign policy likes the violence, but there’s no clear plan or strategy or meaning. It’s senseless. And we don’t know what If any retaliation Venezuela will have. We’re quickly becoming hated by the world. Trump is beefing with Brazil, India, China, Europe, Canada, Denmark, Ukraine, Iran, he’s a joke to Russia. This is the kind of environment where state sponsored terror against us becomes real. And trump is defunding the police all the federal organizations meant to track all this.
9/3/2025 8:07:40 PM
Yeah, but he's making money, though.
9/3/2025 8:32:40 PM
^^ I hope the cartels throw an explosive rock straight on top of Trump's combover. That's the retaliation the whole world would love to see.
