Here's my issue. We see guys knocked off our sports teams every year for academic issues. This never happens at UNC and despite all the shit brewing over there it is still not happening. As of last year they were telling recruits families about their 100% graduation rates and how a guy would have to want to fail to actually fail.

This is bullshit and is a huge edge for them in recruiting. They can take guys that other schools have to pass up on because they have no hope of getting through school.

Their players get a promise that they will have to do nothing but play sports the entire time they are in school. No school work, no parking tickets, no hassle. Their entire culture then has the gall to look down upon everyone else that is not in baby blue as inferior or insignificant when their entire foundation is built on the same bullshit.

I hope they get everything that is coming to them and that every team that fielded a player that would have been ineligible gets a fat L for that game, no matter if it is a preseason exhibition pick-up with Obama or a national championship. The question is, who can stand up and get us the transparency to see how far it goes back? They obviously have the data.

I used to hate the N&O because they loved bashing State and always seemed so pro-UNC, but this whole thing has given me mixed emotions.

On one hand, I'm delighted to see them froth at the mouth at this kind of story. This whole thing is a journalist's wet dream, and knowing that so many dbag UNC journalists work there makes me smile.

On the other, I think it's pretty sad how desperate they must be for a scoop. Journalism is a dying field, and watching them devour this story is like watching a mother devour her own young.

Either way, I'd never subscribe to that shit stain of a newspaper, but I'll gladly watch them dig deeper and deeper at the expense of UNC

What I was having trouble with was why they used his transcript for illustrative purposes. It was a terrible transcript from a horrible student. Then I figured out this was probably used to show prospective and current athletes how to maintain eligibility even if you didn't want to do anything. Hell they may have even left Pepper's name on there on purpose to be able to show athletes that they were able to keep that dumbass eligible for as long as they needed to. It also clearly showed that taking real classes was to be avoided and would quickly lead to you being ineligible.

Only part in your post I think I disagree with. I doubt most major schools think about that past "are they qualified to be enrolled." If they eventually become ineligible so be it but we might get one or two years out of him is the thing most, it not all, schools think about.
