It's because at some point you realize that the short term benefits no longer outweigh the short and long term hassles.

I think I summed it up to pilgrimshoes one time when I said something along the lines of, "Yeah, she's hot and I'd love to fuck her, but afterwards I'd have to put up with her shit for a little while at least. I'm sure there's something about her that will grate on me within a few days, then god forbid it developed into some kind of relationship where I have to deal with her constatnly. Even the good ones of those have really shitty patches and I don't have the time nor energy for that. Besides she'll probably just end up being horrible looking and chubby in a few years so why not just save myself the time, effort, and frustration by skipping it all together and just having another Newcastle and playing some more Silver Strike instead of hitting on her."

so one of the guys i eat lunch with is the marketing director for recruitment, internal communications, and press releases

he kinda guilt tripped me into participating in a thing today where they were getting a bunch of people, taking photos that looked in a professional environment to use as stock photos later

that's what kinda bothers me, is that since they're included in stock photos for executive presentations or other shit, you'll never know when they're used

there's the potential down the road to be watching a video with the ceo sent to the entire company then see my goofy ass in a labcoat lookin' at some kapton on a light board

oh well

i quickly came to the conclusion that i must have been the token white dood though.

and fwiw, it's funny seeing females that are as non-technical as it gets attempting to look comfortable in a legit chem lab

hell i was uncomfortable and have spent a lot of tiem in labs and production environments
