mixed feelings about missing a family reunion this weekend

my dad brother and dad's gf are going tomorrow. one of my first cousins. my uncles. then some random more distant relatives but not a lot (great aunt, some like 4th cousins from cali, some bia i've never heard of before). if more of my cousins were going i'd totally be more on board

the main reason i didn't go is because my dad's gf is going. i'm tired of being forced to hang out with people i don't want to ever hang out with. i mean no offense but having people walk in and out of my life ever 5 minutes by death or otherwise is getting old. i'd rather not go through the trust/attachment/letting someone in phase and then they leave. so. i guess i'm a selfish bitch but really i don't think it is that selfish because other people think it is weird too (my dad and his relationships).

it is a FAMILY reunion. FAMILY. i am sick of being put in situations where whatever gf he has at the time is invited to family gatherings so i have to avoid them or watch them get drunk off of cheap wine and sing terrible renditions of oldies songs while (a little too affectionately) stroking my grandmother's boyfriend's head. i mean. i'd rather die.

The plan is currently for me to leave early (like 5 a.m. early) Saturday and meet Aaron when he gets off and have breakfast and then spend the day in D.C. and I dunno what on Sunday. But that could still turn into me not coming up depending on how the next couple days go. We'll see.
