It doesn't help the situation that people think this is actually some sort of destination job, I know I'll get toasted over that statement but there is a huge disconnect with most fans between how desirable this job(or a lot of ACC coaching jobs at this point) actually are.

I'm not thrilled with Lowe, especially on the offensive end where I think he has lacked ever since he got here. However, without a slam dunk coaching candidate that actually wants to come here waiting in the wings, I think firing him just leaves us where we were a few years ago. We'd probably end up with an average mid major coach and there is no promise he'd be any better and risky a job search disaster like last time is an embarrassment I don't really want to go through again.

I'm willing to give him 1 more year after this, he'll have talent, depth, experience and if it can't be done at that point then we have no choice. I'm not settling for mediocrity but I think some people are pretty delusional about how good this job actually is.

We're most likely not a tournmanet team next year whether Sidney is here or not if CJ Leslie is gone.

If Leslie stays another year then we will be significantly better than without him (obviously).

Keeping Lowe would definitely make us more likely to keep Leslie.

I dont think thats a valid reason for keeping Lowe, but I do think its a fact.

I think a valid reason for keeping Lowe is that he is building a winner. Slower than all of us would like, but its happening nonetheless.

Well there is almost certainly going to be a lockout.

No one knows when it will end though.

I'd bank on midseason (wipe out say 30-40 games) before the play half the season.

However, I wouldn't be THAT suprised at all if they wipe out a whole season (the sides are really THAT far apart and the owners win by losing the season in the short term).

But CJ will have to make up his mind way before that. He can decide to turn pro, sign an agent, and at that point its all over whether theres a season or not.


If Lowe is still there and the season is iffy then there's a much better chance Leslie returns. I mean this is a guy he chose to come play for over basically every team in the nation. He turned down big money to play for Calipari at Kentucky for god's sake. I don't think you can underestimate their connection at this point.

The past four seasons are a sunk cost. You aren't getting those back even if we hire Jesus tomorrow.

Last year Sid impressed everyone by overachieving and showing some direction offensively. Defense is a function of talent which we haven't had enough of yet. Recruiting is paying off handsomely. I just don't get what you guys are missing.

If we could just simulate forward two years you guys would be all over Lowe's nuts. It's too bad we cant just do that.

We all agree we're not going to be that good next year no matter who the coach is. Really, it depends on Leslie. If he returns we can make the tournament, if he doesn't we can't, period. Why not make the high percentage play and retain Lowe? We're going to be good in two years either way...

Atsur was not THAT good his senior year. He was an okay point guard. He did have a good tournament but for god's sake he couldn't even get the ball down the court while facing the basket he had to do back to the basket weaves.

Crawford was actually pretty diesel his senior year, check the stats if you don't believe me. He came on strong in ACC play. I wanna say he was like 10 ppg, 4 ast with 55% FG but i dont feel like looking it up. He was also a premeire defender at the PG spot.

He was just so bad his first three seasons that people forget this.
