this patch was promised to us in August. It is now nearing the end of September.

Someone needs to get a fucking clue over at EA/DICE. I'm not down with the online media, so can anyone tell me if someone has written any kind of "bitch/rant" about the whole situation yet in gamespy or IGN or something?

I will not buy the expansion initially.. no way..

They have two entirely seperate teams working on each project (patch vs. expansion)

What I do not care for is EA's approach in saying "oh yeah we may have the expansion out before patches because we have two different teams working on it"

Sure it gives a reason to explain why it could happen.. but it is that very reason that I dislike in a business sense. They are worried more about making another $ so they invest resources in creating extended content to a broken product instead of fixing what is currently released and THEN adding new content. I don't think it would be such a big deal if there weren't SO FUCKING MANY little problems with the game. Of course don't get me wrong.. I still play and enjoy it.. but damn.... gg EA's priorities.... just one of many reasons why I dislike how they operate.

I got awarded the aerial service ribbon this past weekend while flying and it isn't showing up in my stats. This happen to anyone else?

I was playing with Rat earlier in the night. We played Karkand a little, man that map can suck. I just started running around pistol sniping. Managed to get my pistol badge by doing that. The problem with Karkand is that it has become a 203 whoring festival.

just outsmart the 203s - I either use a 203 or the DAO-12 religiously on that map now that I've unlocked it - I fuckin love that shotgun plus anti-tank is nice for the vehicles there

Wraith - yes, I earned a Bronze two seperate times after a round and it never showed up.

From what I've determined it has happened when I know I win the award (by looking at the score board) but exit the server before the top scores screen shows up. I think that it didn't register because, even though the round was technically over, the server hadn't switched to a new round so the award was given to someone else.

As for badges or ribbons, I've never lost one that I've earned.

stats don't update until the end of the round. If I have a good round and want it to stick, I'm going to wait until the new map starts loading.

on sunday I was playing on a 64 player full server on kubra dam in the SU-34. No deaths. Last time I checked, I had 177 points. Shortly thereafter it started lagging pretty badly so I played more conservatively (Not flying through the dam and so forth). But when I was coming into reload, magically, a loaded-to-the-fucking-ceiling blackhawk appears in front of me and BOOM.

ahahah that's the way that shit works. I love when you are walking on a map and the server lags and keeps you walking the same direction. I've died many a death due to that on Karkand. Just last night I walked off a roof top because of it and into a grenade.

Just wanted to point out I am going to make a push for my Sergeant rank this weekend - I need a SERIOUS break from work/school so I'm not going to do much of anything productive.. which means lots of BF2.. and probably lots of Karkand that you guys love so much That is.. unless Maugan signs on and gets in a bomber that I jump in to target shit since that is just as good for points lol

So if anyone is down for some squad point whoring - I'll be on Friday night probably.. I made sure to make NO plans by order of many wannabe doctors so I can "relax"

I took care of the lost ribbon issue last night. I re-earned my aerial service ribbon in like 20 mins. It was a lot easier the second time around for some reason (Probably because there weren't any fighter planes trying to shoot me down).

It is pretty easy on Operation Clean Sweep with the F-15 or SU-34 on a 32-player map (no fighters). What is really fun is when you steal the enemy plane and someone on your team is already flying your plane. The only way they can shoot you down is with AA, which is usually unsuccessful. Just fly around bombing anything that moves and rack up the kills.

i've noticed a steady decrease in ping performance in ALL servers. its gotten to be pretty bad and i dont know y. some servers have everyone less than 100 for ping but still lags quite a bit in certain places. and i know i'm not the only 1 cause people bitch and moan about it in the server to kick whoever's causing the high ping. however, there is no one..lol. i'm eagerly awaiting this freakin patch cause i hope it fixes a shitload of these headaches with this damn game.

hold the cursor over the target and you should get a tone/lock - it will even display a message that your pilot can see saying that you have a lock - fire away and it should track him down if you can keep your sights on the target long enough

usually the pilot has no clue wtf he is doing when it comes to assisting your ability to hit anything - get in with a good pilot in a jet or a helicopter and you can seriously go to town with missles

You are more likely to hit the target if the plane is going straight and the target is directly in front of you. If it is to the side, it won't hit.

I have so thoroughly missed this game. It has been wonderful to get back to playing - especially when it plays without a single hitch anymore. I've played several rounds on high population servers since Thursday, and I have yet to see a single hiccup, slowdown, lag, or absolutely anything at all. I couldn't be any happier about this, as it's not nearly as taxing on my blood pressure as it was the last time I was playing. LOL.

Is it a server-controlled option to have punishing removed now? I got into a server last night which was absolutely overrun with TK'ers, but I was never given any option to punish. That's so typical - even if the often-misused punishment system is removed, there's always some fucking moron who thinks it's funny to shoot his teammates.
