Stop reminding me.
ssj -- I hand it over to my accountant.

I think from now on I'm going to do it myself...

ssj, I let Roth do my math homework at tax time... I try not to do as much quick trading with regular investments, as I hate the tax headache as well ... but when you can make a few thousand pretty quickly, I would gladly have that cash and do the taxes for it later on.

any thoughts on NTGR (netgear)?

they look rather cheap, and seem to be coming out with a lot of cool products. The EVA8000 media player competes with Apple TV and is a far more versatile product, for example.

some vmware info since i know of the product but don't know too much about the company and their competition or additional revenue sources:

http://tinyurl.com/2g3tlj
Quote :
"
VMware had revenue of $258.7 million in the quarter ended in March, compared with $129.1 million a year earlier. Earnings per share nearly doubled to 11 cents, year over year.

Full-year 2006 revenue was $703.9 million, up 82% from the prior year.

However, after VMWare's IPO terms were announced earlier Monday, Holmes questioned the offering price. At a per-share range of $23 to $25, "it's not cheap," he said. A net dilution of $23.50, as a percentage of offering price, is about 98%. "We like to see that [percentage] down in the 70s or 80s," which is the "value zone," he says.

An annual earnings projection based on the quarter ended in March would give an EPS of 44 cents. A midpoint IPO price of $24 would have the stock trading at 54 times earnings, Holmes says. "That's incredibly generous in terms of valuation."

VMWare is selling 33 million shares of common stock, with EMC retaining 332 million shares, or 89% of the company. VMware expects proceeds of $741.4 million after the IPO
"

Apparently Intel is buying 2.5% of VMware.

if the EPS doubled though, then the P/E might be justified

P/E: 54
Growth Rate (1yr): 100%

PEG = 54/100 = 0.54

i'm getting kind of pumped about VMWare. as pumped as i've been since BIDU.

i just got home and am watching Fast Money on DVR, and am dissapointed that Najarian can't pronounce "Rupee". i met the chap when i visited the CBOE a few years back.

CSCO breaks through the $29 barrier for the first time in 4 years.

Also, bought 371 shares of OPXT @ 14.54. I might have missed the boat on this, but been watching them for a week, and they're up 9% since monday.

^ Summers usually suck for consumer discretionary spending

ANF was at 80 the last time that I looked at them. Not sure what happened.

JCG was steady at $40 until their last earnings report came out and they took off.

I just sold the last of my IDEV at $6.58. I bought it at $6.52 on 2/23/06.

Fortunately I made some money by selling calls on it at $7.50 (which it briefly topped) every few months.

Anybody know any companies that make PVC's? My gut tells me that investing in solar cells would be good. Won't take off for a few years, but when it does, it's gonna be big.

go to yahoo finance, click on the ETFs section, and search the list for alternative energy ETFs.

look those ETFs up on etfconnect.com and see what companies they're holding, and see which ones are solar plays.

you may find what you're looking for.

TRID Delisting Postponed, Price continues to collapse

TRID is not getting delisted at this time.
Possible reasons are
1. TRID provided evidence that they were definitively prepared to resolve
2. NASD would set a dangerous precedent

TRID seems to be doing one of 2 things: timing their announcement or calling the NASD bluff. I'd like to think that TRID wants to resolve this at their quarterly earnings release.
At the same time, they could just be playing on the NASD reluctance to delist. There are plenty of other companies in exactly the same situation and once NASD starts, it will be difficult to stop.

I am waiting and hoping that I am not throwing away money.....

At least MDR, NUAN, and OPXT are moving along nicely.

^^de-listed only means a move to the pink sheets - it's still a tradable stock

Ultimately, all of this ties in to the options overhang issue. Executives cheated on stock option grants or worse.
But what are the ramifications of a worst case scenario? After all, any re-statement of finances is historical. The only impact today will be fines and lawsuits. Fine amount will be anybody's guess, but lawsuits will take years to have an impact. So the current impact is slight”

Meanwhile, they now dominate the LCD TV market and market share is probably above 50%. Either they resolve this issue and the market goes “Wow, we forgot you guys had 50%+ margins and were growing 40%+ per year but have a P/E of ~20. Our bad, we better pile in.” Or TRID will really screw it up and the market waves goodbye. That’s investing.

BTW Fannie Mae hasn’t reported in years, and no delisting. TRID is scheduled to report on 7/23, so i think it should all be cleared up by then, for better or worse.
