Wow. I've been playing it for just about the last 24 hours straight. The only reason I stopped is so I can get a little bit of sleep and because one of my fingers is literally bleeding.
They weren't kidding when they said this was the best selection of songs ever compiled for a video game.
I think Float On is my new temporary favorite song to play. It's just so fun.
One thing I'm pissed about is how they changed the colors of the stars so now it's not as easy to see how close you are to getting that next star. Especially at a quick glance.9/12/2008 12:54:12 AM |

looks like $190 package in a month, $60 game, $70 guitar, $90 drums, $30 cymbal pack http://www.gamestop.com/browse/search.aspx?N=0&Ntk=TitleKeyword&PerPage=50&Ntt=rock+band&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial
im prbly getting the cymbal pack, but not the double bass pedal if it comes. unless they add slayer 9/14/2008 1:57:20 AM |

the full package for $189 does not have the cymbal pack...those are optional from madcatz i believe
it is cheaper buying it in the bundle but the mic is the same as rb1, guitar is supposedly a little better but we still just use gh3 guitars...best ones...so i might get the new drum set
btw, we're having problems calibrating it correctly, rb1 was spot on, we cant get it right yet 9/14/2008 9:15:46 AM |

Just got finished playing my first go around and a few things I've noticed:
1) Hammer ons and pull offs are easier to perform. I never really got the hang of them on the first one (although I was always able to on Guitar Hero), but now I have it down. 2) They really skipped out on new content in terms of clothes/instruments/etc. Lots of the stuff is the exact same as in RB1. The main reason I got the game was for additional songs though, so I'm not complaining. 3) It would be nice if I could differentiate between the RB1 and RB2 songs when I select a mystery set list. It sucks when you get the new game and you select the mystery set and end up getting a bunch of songs you've already played a thousand times.

Things I love:
-They finally fixed character profiles. Being able to switch instruments is great.
-The song list is amazing. They also made the list easier to navigate/organize.
-The music video backgrounds look awesome.
-No fail mode and playlists sound great for parties. 9/14/2008 10:31:50 PM |

havent ventured out to best buy yet, is there a demo drumset? i want to see if i like the rebound any better. if not, i might pick up the silencer pads and see if that helps. 9/14/2008 10:55:51 PM |

I'm just happy you can finally play all of Dolittle in the right order back to back. That in itself is easily worth the $5 transfer fee.
Did anyone else pay the money to transfer the songs from RB1? I guess should I ask did anyone else NOT do that? 9/14/2008 11:14:53 PM |
Duncan All American 1442 Posts user info edit post |
Yeah, I transferred the songs. I like the fact that it throws them into the random events in WT, I think it will add to the replay value (instead of just playing Quickplay all the time.)
My songlist is HUGE now, and it's only going to get bigger when the Foo Fighters and the Chili Peppers albums come out.
Also, for those that don't know yet, when you buy the game the instruction manual has a code on the back that will let you download a 20 song pack in the future (no details yet on when it will come out, but still a nice perk.) 9/14/2008 11:40:46 PM |

I still would like to know if the bleeding DLC will finally be available for rock band 2 Wii, Harmonix is a huge homer for gimping the wii version of 1 so badly.
The only info i can find is a poor assumption made by some editor at wired magazine or something, no official statements from Harmonix.
With GH4 offering DLC and compatibility with RB instruments, if RB2 doesn't get there shit together I'm jumping ship, as much as I don't want to...

Hahaha so I was browsing through the clothes/accessories, and one of the shirts in the thrift store section is called "Brokeback Jacket" because it obviously looks like the jacket that Heath Ledger wears in Brokeback Mountain. Under the description, it says "This jacket wishes that it could quit you"
