^^^ It does sound a bit like Ratatat...but I'm assuming it's a preview of a song for Julian Casablancas solo album. His voice and lyrics are what's going to make the album (hopefully)

the more i listen to it the more it seems like it's kinda weak lyrically. musically i like it a lot though, especially the mandolin for some reason. pretty sure it's mandolin at least. i also hope this new album is longer than 35 minutes or whatever the rumor was that i heard.

P.S. Pitchfork gave Megafaun an 8.1, which is apparently not good enough for "Best New Music" despite that category recently including albums with scores of 8.0, 8.2, and 8.3

i used to be in the same cello section as the guy on the avetts album. true story. only found out when i saw them at the schoolkids show and joe was there. strange moment. hadn't seen him since he left for a conservatory like 15 years ago.
