Yeah after all the hoopla of it getting put on hiatus and then coming back, you would think they would pick better episodes to lead off with.


The last two were enough to scare off anyone who was on the fence about this show after seeing the first two episodes since it came back.

^Yep. I watch both, but I do think that BBT and other laugh track shows are a much simpler comedy show than ones like 30 Rock and Community. And as somebody who just recently rewatched all of The Civil War on Netflix, I LOVED last weeks episode of Community.

Chevy is right. The funniest thing I've seen so far from Community was an ad hoc promo they shot before the first season. Just Joel and Chevy trading insults. It was great. The pilot also had some very deep and witty dialogue. Chevy got duped into being an extra in a shitty teeny-bopper drama, I feel sorry for him.

^^^^I realize the default for insulting a comedy is saying it's like 2.5 Men or BBT, but that's lazy as fuck and totally inapplicable to Community at ANY point in it's run. Was it fully formed right out of the gate? No, but it wasn't shitty or lame either. Maybe you need to go back and watch the beginning of the first season again, because the seeds of it's later awesomeness are planted right from the start.

we both realize that the first few episodes were not as good as the rest, but I claim them to be not good to average and you still liked them. agree to disagree, and yes the bbt and 2 1/2 men comment was lazy and exaggerated, but it was a lot closer to a traditional sitcom than it is now
