unfortunatley its going to be more long-haul than just this week. Have f'n Kolb and Flacco I feel like I'm pretty deep at RB/WR though..might have to end up trading.

Like I said before...when in doubt of a WR to start, always consider the QB who is throwing the ball.

Is Calvin Johnson a better WR than Wes Welker? Yes. Who would I start if I had to choose 1? Welker.

He gets more passes his way, isn't the focal point of the offense, and his passes are on target and catchable, whereas Calvin has Shuan Hill throwing him the ball and he can't accurately throw farther than 15 yards. He's killing Megatron's value b/c of the lack of a deep ball.

What I mean by this, is between those two, you start Colston, you have more than 1 week of data suggesting otherwise.

duely noted... I just know that Brees has no problem throwing it to anyone. But with the whole bush thing, it takes away a short target.

also, doesn't really affect me, but Revis is not gonna play, so that could help out anyone with a ronnie brown, henne (haha), or brandon marshall

Would anyone here start Shaun Hill @Minn or Gradkowski @Ariz over Flacco vs. Cle?

Flacco blew ass the first 2 weeks, but I would look like an asshole if I benched him this week for one of those other two donks and he happened to go off.

no way, if Flacco cant turn it around against Cleveland, then hes not gonna turn it around and its time to look elsewhere. Flaccos bad games are still better than Gradkowski and Hill's good days

Trade offer: I get Matt Hasselbeck,Marion Barber, and Mike Williams for Tony Gonzalez and Jay Cutler. I already have Brady at QB and Keller and Heap at TE, so I dont really feel like I am losing anything. And my WRs (R. White, Sims-Walker, Maclin and Breston) and RBs (Turner, Addai, B. Wells, R. Bush, M.Bush, Snelling)are not very talented. What do you think TWW?

Id take the trade since you arent really losing much...you arent gaining much either but Barber could add a little depth to the RB situation (#3 RB based on your current roster). I dont know why you are keeping 3 TE though...thats a waste of roster space.

you'd have to drop somebody right? i'd probably immediately drop hasselbeck, so then barber/williams (TB right?) for TGonz/Cutler... I dunno, if he's gonna get an upgrade at QB, and you're not really getting anything that you'd start, why make his starting lineup better. If he plans on starting Cutler see if you can get a little more, cuz hasselbeck isn't worth a damn

edit: and cutler is about as high as his worth is ever going to be, i'm sure he'll be average or worse the rest of the year

[Edited on September 22, 2010 at 8:29 PM. Reason : cutler sucks too]

help me help you

pick 1 QB - we get 1pt per 25 yards passing and 10 yards rushing

Tony Romo @ Houston (possible shootout?)
Michael Vick @ Jax (rushing yards and terrible defense)

pick 3 WR - 1pt per 10 yards receiving, non-ppr

Roddy White @ NO (definite starter)
Donald Driver @ CHI (MNF shootout?)
Mark Clayton vs. Wash (Skins have been getting torched through air and Clayton has been decent)
Michael Crabtree @ KC (Smith is getting better, but Flowers is a tough CB matchup)
Malcolm Floyd @ Sea (been getting lots of looks from Rivers so far)

^^^Thats how I see it. I am not really giving up anything. And I would add more mediocre depth to an already pathetic team. I guess I am just hoping for a breakout or injury. And I have three TEs because they were the most valuable players available. Needless to say, it wasnt a pretty draft.

^^Thanks for the advice. I think I am going to propose a new trade of Cutler and A.G. for Hasselback and B. Jackson. Does that seem like a better trade?

^Vick is on fire. I would keep him in until he fell off. R. White is a given, Clayton has been putting up some good numbers, and I expect Floyd to put up good numbers against a bad Seattle defense.

DROD900, here's who I would start:

Vick

White - Leading the league in targets after two weeks
Driver - looks like he's becoming quite the red zone target, with 2 TD's from inside the 10
Floyd - big WR who will have a 6-7inch advantage over the Seattle corners this weekend. He'll see a number of targets. Whether or not he catches the targets is a different question.

I can give you more in depth reasons as to why, but this is where I would start. FWIW, Romo isn't a bad option either. I see lots of yards and lots of turnovers in his weekend. Vick won't throw for the yards that Romo will, but Vick will add 75 rushing yards which would be equivalent to another 175+ passing yards. I'm thinking 75 is the floor, too. Jax has one off the worst, but specifically, one of the slowest defenses in the league. Match that with Vick, DeSean Jackson, Maclin, McCoy and Celek (pretty fast for a TE) and they are looking like they can put up some points this week.

It's not uncommon for weather this time of year in Florida, so monitor that on Sunday. If it's anything other than sunshine, you may want to start Romo since they will be indoors, but overall. I'd feel really good about Vick.

^^^ Id go with Vick. Easy 5 or 6 points just from his rushing and probably at least 2 touchdowns (possibly one rushing TD which is more points in standard scoring). Romo has a higher upside if it turns into a shootout but watch out for turnovers too.

White, Driver, Floyd...thats a pretty easy decision.

I would probably go with Ward...don't think Car will do much against Cincy's D.

Pick 1 to start alongside Jahvid Best:

Tomlinson @MIA
Brandon Jackson @ CHI
Greene @ MIA
Barber @ HOU

Or do I pick up a Tolbert and play him instead?

I got both Tolbert and Snelling as Hail Marys. Thinking that only Tolbert is a legit play until Turner proves his injury it for real:
Quote :
"Chargers RB Ryan Mathews has high-ankle sprain

Chargers rookie running back Ryan Mathews missed Wednesday's practice due to a high-ankle sprain, per Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Typically players miss several weeks with this type of injury so there's a good chance that he won't play on Sunday.

However, Mathews, who was the 12th-overall draft pick this year, says the decision will be based on how he feels.

“They’re going to go on how I feel,” Mathews said, per the San Diego Union-Tribune. “I feel good … I don’t think it was that bad. They’re going to take precautionary measures to make sure my career isn’t going to be upset over an ankle … Something that could be a week, if I don’t treat it right could be six weeks.”

Rookie Mike Tolbert would be in position for the majority of work if Mathews doesn't play.

Last week, Tolbert finished with 16 carries for 82 yards and two scores. Whether or not Mathews plays, Tolbert will likely get most of the goal-line work.

It would seem more likely that the Chargers are cautious with their first-round pick against the Seahawks."

also, who would you rather have for the rest of the season Michael Vick, Tony Romo or Matt Ryan? I have all 3 on my roster. I hate having even 2 QBs on my roster, so I need to get rid of at least one of them. Who would you get rid of and who do you think would be a good target to get in return?

Get rid of Ryan, keep Vick through week 4 (Romo has a bye in week 4), then see if you can sell Vick for a top 10 WR. It's risky because Romo could get hurt or something, but Vick's schedule is about to get infinitely harder after this week.

^^^lol, It was between him and snelling... I'll now have to choose between mcfadden, s. jackson, and tolbert- nice to have decisions to make based on matchups instead of just hoping some schmuck has a good week (like I have to do with my stupid receivers)

I was also happy I waited until he wasn't on waivers because I still kept my (not too great but better than last) waiver position

^^yeah, I gotta agree... I mean, having roddy white makes it a sweet double points feature, but Vick is gonna be doing well at least through romo's bye, and Romo can always have a good game... that is what I hate about the cowboys- they will be allstars one week, and no better than cleveland the next (no offense )

^^ FWIW Fasano had 42yds v the Bills in week 1, and Finely had 100+ v the Bills in week 2. There are just a lot of weapons on the Patriots offense...

I think Greg Jennings is a must start, but Floyd vs Seattle and Portis vs St Louis is a toss up.

The Seahawks are 26th vs the Pass and St Louis is 30th vs. the Run. I'm leaning towards Floyd based on the way that Orton torched the Seahawks' secondary last week and it's not like Portis was a stud last week with 33yds rushing, he just got those 1yd TD runs

i agree with Cowboy's analysis....

i'm being offered Ricky Williams for Mike Tolbert.

Would you guys accept? I had Ricky last year and he was crucial when Ronnie was out. I'm not sure how long Matthews will be out with this ankle sprain, but he feels confident about his chances to come back.... Ricky has gotten a stable number of carries in the first two games. (Tolbert had 2 in week 1 when Matthews was healthy). This is a keeper league too, but i probably wouldn't keep either of these guys at season's end.

thoughts?

Hopefully you're not relying to heavily on either one, but if you dont think Tolbert will see the ball when Matthews comes back, I would stick with Ricky. He atleast gets his touches regardless.

^ even if Mathews doesn't come back, I don't think we will see days like Tolbert put up last week again. Look at what happened in SD last year when they didn't have a healthy LT, they just threw it. Even if Tolbert becomes the starter he will still split about 50/50 with Sproles. I'd do the trade and hope Brown gets hurt, or counter with someone better than Ricky. I just think you need to sell on Tolbert this week. He's as high as he's gonna be all season.

Can someone help me make a decision on Michael Bush. With DMC playing as well as he is, will Bush ever be fantasy significant this year? Right now my backs are: Turner, Mathews, Best, Bush, and Marshawn Lynch (hoping for him to be traded somewhere soon.)

With Mathews possibly down this week should I give up on Bush and take a waiver pickup? Best available are Hillis, BJGE (might be the only back soon in NE, Taylor is bound to get injured), and Buckhalter

[Edited on September 23, 2010 at 2:28 PM. Reason : Tolbert Trade info]

^^my opinion is like stillrolling's, if you think Tolbert is going to lose carries with Matthews back then make the trade because Ricky will get his, except for that fumbling problem he has been having.

However, maybe Tolbert didn't get many carries week 1 because SD didn't know what they had in him and he showcased in week 2. I think carries might be split more similarly to Williams and Brown for Matthews and Tolbert in the future.

I think this is a decision that you need to make on your on.

^I don't know if Bush will be valuable this year, because I don't understand Oakland. However, those options for pickup are not solid either.

If you are going to play one, pick based on matchup.

I doubt Hillis will do much against Baltimore, NE has Buffalo and you would have to presume that BJGE will get a fair share of carries.

Buckhalter seems to get a fair share also, and Moreno has sucked at actually punching it in when he is down on the goalline...and Denver plays Indy...not so great run defense.

Ran across this regarding Floyd

Quote :
"Chargers coach Norv Turner said on Wednesday that WR Malcom Floyd was held out of practice because of leg soreness. The Chargers are preparing to face the Seahawks in Week 3. Floyd caught his first touchdown of the season in Week 2 against the Jaguars. The Seahawks have allowed wide receivers to total 25 catches for 303 yards and two touchdowns. However, no wide receiver has yet to break 100 yards against Seattle. The closest was Demaryius Thomas, who had eight catches for 97 yards and one touchdown in Week 2."

So keep an eye on Floyd as the weekend comes around

^^ not really missing anything. Rashad has outperformed MJD so far this year which is why he wants to trade. I like that trade considering that when Big Ben returns the Steelers are going to pass more and Rashad will have a smaller role whereas MJD will always get the ball. Im not sure if I buy the MJD is 100% healthy talk though.

^Take a chance on TO this week. He should have a good game against a terrible Panthers secondary.

Fins rolled up 150 yds rushing on the Jets last year, and Revis is out, so there should be some lanes to run through.

Trying to keep my heart and my head seperate here: 2 RB, 2WR, 1 RB/WR. Bold are current starters.
RBs
Foster vs Dal
Tolbert @ Sea
R. Matthews @ Sea
C.J. Spiller @ NE

WRs
Austin @ Hou
Garcon @ Denver
Clayton vs Wash
Walter vs Dal
Knox vs GB

Garcon and Spiller have really shit the bed this season... I have thought about Walter vs. Dallas, but that would be two Texans (although this could be a shootout). My big question is the flex, I'm going with a WR but I it's a toss up between picking 2/3 between Garcon/Clayton/Walter.

From what I've read Tolbert has been getting the 1st team reps all week, so I'm thinking he gets the start over Matthews this week.
