True to an extent, but the new rules make it a lot easier to go over the middle without getting your head taken off. Welker makes his living that way.

No, it's not broken with Smitty playing Wideout, but it wasn't broken when he played the slot. He will get better matchups and be able to use his quickness and deceptiveness to make more plays. Hell, they can mix it up and let him play all over. Just looking to help Cam have more options.

It has been said, we need a LB now, I so agree, just not sure who is out there we could afford to bring in without losing more.

LB's are by far the least important third of good 4-3 defenses. It all starts up front, and then the secondary. In the passing league this has become, your nickel corner is more important than than your starting Sam linebacker. We need studs up front, and the rest will take care of itself.

This season, since we don't have good DL or DBs, the losses of Beason and Davis are magnified. We're pretty much stuck until April and March when we can get some reinforcements.

Agreed. He had a stiff arm Sunday was a thing of beauty.

Going back to the Stew video, it looks like Hangartner takes out two dudes on that play too.

i just feel a serviceable LB is much easier to find at this point than a lineman. Right now we are weak at all three levels, but I feel like the backfield is in the best shape. But unless we can get someone else in the middle to stop the run or break up plays behind the line they are going to be over exposed. I fully agree we are pretty much out of options until March, but there has to be a small move to make to get another body in there.

"The Seattle Times reports that SLB Aaron Curry's contract is being restructured again as the prelude to an impending trade.
Curry's locker has been cleaned out at the Seahawks' facility and he was not at Wednesday's practice. The team is not commenting, but it looks like he's been traded. Carolina has previously been rumored as a possible landing spot. Curry was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft. Stay tuned. "

just did a twitter search for "clausen" here are the "top" results...must be by proximity because they're both the David Glenn Show's account:

Quote :
"@DavidGlennShow
hearing rumors of a 3-way NFL trade sending Kyle Orton to Denver, Brandon Lloyd to the Panthers and Clausen to Broncos, draft picks involved

@DavidGlennShow
check that...Orton to MIAMI, Clausen to Denver, Lloyd to Carolina...doing a live radio show here...apologies"

with Hurney running the show, hate to see what draft picks the Panthers give up

and WHY IN THE FUCK does John Fox want Jimmy Clausen again...I call BS on the whole thing

"Three-way trade

Denver trades Kyle Orton to Miami for a draft pick, which the Broncos then package along with Brandon Lloyd in a deal with Carolina for Jimmy Clausen.

The Broncos named Tim Tebow their starter this week, but this move would give them two young QBs to develop and let the best one win. Coach John Fox drafted Clausen, who started 10 games as a rookie, when he was at Carolina.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins get the quarterback they wanted before the season and the Panthers get help at receiver to give Cam Newton another target to go opposite Steve Smith."

I read about that on a panthers forum yesterday and couldn't believe it was even being talked about. The Broncos making that trade would be the worst decision since the Bears traded Orton and 30 first day draft picks for Jay Sulkface

They would lose their best receiver and a currently benched but still pretty decent QB and all they would get is JIMMY CLAUSEN?!

Quote :
"It looks like we’ll actually have an interesting name to talk about leading up to the NFL trading deadline.

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that the Broncos have been in talks with teams regarding wide receiver Brandon Lloyd. Klis says “three or four” teams are interested, with Carolina and Tennessee believed to be among them.

It’s rare for anyone of note to be dealt before the deadline because teams are usually loath to admit it’s a rebuilding year so early in the season. But Lloyd is in the last year of his contract and the Broncos aren’t going to be the same pass-happy team they were under Josh McDaniels. It’s clear they are rebuilding.

Denver also has wideouts Demaryius Thomas and Eddie Royal returning from injury soon. Second year pro Eric Decker has been a solid starter while Royal is out.

Lloyd should be an attractive trade chip. He makes only $1.395 million and led the league in receiving yards last year. Lloyd leads Denver with 283 yards (in four games) this year. He missed one game due to injury."

as long as Hurney doesn't give up a 1st or 2nd round pick for him, go ahead. he could probably be had for a 4th at the highest, but i would be more satisfied with a 5th or 6th.

If we still had Sutton in the cellar somewhere I wouldn't be opposed to it, but heaven forbid an injury occur and we be a step away from a Jerome Felton backfield.

I'd love this if lloyd wasn't in the last yr of his contract, I don't think you can give up a high pick unless him signing a new contract is part of the trade

edit: just saw they mentioned a 4th or 5th round pick, I was expecting something higher, that might be worth it

Conditional trade based on signing a new contract. 2 4th round picks if he does, 1 5th round pick if he doesn't.
