To invite people to preview, you have to be in the Xbone Dash Preview app and there is a big "Invite" icon. Then just select your friends and it sends it out after a day or two or three.

This backwards compatibility timing makes me understand why Master Chief Collection was rushed so badly...

It was one of their few lucrative exclusive titles, so naturally they had to re-milk it before announcing backwards compatibility.

The only other Xbox exclusive worth mentioning is Gears of War, I'm sure they would like to re-milk that cash cow also, so I'm curious to see if they allow it to be backwards compatible on the Xbone.

I got invited (thanks if that was a Tduber)... do I have to download something? I am at the preview page, but it looks like there is a delay between invite and ability to play Mass Effect. I'm trying to play with a disc but it doesn't seem to work yet.

They already announced a gears remake for this fall so I doubt it will be backwards compatible. Right now the feature is still in beta so there are only a handful of games that are back compatible. You can google to find out which ones exactly.

It appears as though you can accept the invite download and do the registration, but then there is a 72 hour window for MS to accept you into the program.

I tried it with one of the pre-release builds and it was extremely jittery. maybe they fixed that... have extreme internet from TWC (30 down 5 up) so wouldnt think that would be the problem.

Yea, I have a wired connection to my xbone. i will run it off wifi tonight. (we recently got the speed upgrade from TWC so it might help too. 250/50 or whatever it is)

I'm running 10 on a i7 processor with a Gtx 760, but im not sure how much those matter.

Played both Battlefield 4 and Titanfall over Wifi, worked great. its a nice feature to have because the wife can watch tv and i can play via my desktop or laptop.

The Xbone UI is an absolute piece of dog shit. They should just go back to the Xbox 360 interface. Even the original "blades" system in 2005 was better than this garbage, but that's when it was designed for users to navigate, not to suffocate users with endless advertisements.

Just the act of sending a message to a recent player... on the 360 it takes around 5 seconds and 5 clicks. The Xbone it takes 20 seconds and 10 clicks. So much innovation though right!!!

i got the message last night for it and was excited to download it tonight, but i am going to have to pass if the taken king doesnt work.

i actually like the snap features cause you get an uninterrupted view of the game, but it just takes too damn long to load when you snap. much better than the 360 popup. if they could make that process faster i would be all over it.

So the last few days I have been having a few issues with the new dashboard.

Using the XBox button to return to the dashboard fails to work about once a day now making it impossible to go from game or tv to the dash. Only way to fix is to restart Xbox.

Have also been dropped from Destiny a few times. Not sure if dashboard is to blame or not but a noticeable uptick in drops since the install.

Overall seems acceptable for a beta as long as they fix these issues by rollout.

I've had the same issues (except for Destiny, because that game is boring) and have reported them although the preview app to report issues crashes more than anything else for me.

It's frequent, but manageable and not enough to reset my Xbox. If having to power cycle your xbox occasionally will be a problem for you I do not recommend installing the NXOE update.
