Agreed although some of those combos with black look like Texas Tech

rflong is right. The combinations of the uniforms look really cool, but they definitely do not look NC State. They look like TTech. We need to find a way to make our uniforms unique for us. I mean, there's only so many ways you can wear Red and White, but c'mon man.

While I do like some of those jersey combinations. I have to LOL at the "respect traditions" as if we have some kind of traditional jersey or look. We seem to change our jerseys every 3-4 years. It's not like we're Alabama or Penn State or whoever and have been wearing the same jerseys forever

^Those weren't bad IMO. Obviously it's not something you'd wear but probably once/year. But I thought they were kinda decent

think the reason those aren't on the site is that we worse those under TOB...so they're pretty old and no longer in the rotation, I'd assume.

maybe one day we will have a home schedule that doesn't suck and at least half of the games are after 3:30 in the afternoon.

Anybody know what the visiting sections are Kenan? Me and some friends are thinking of going to the State/UNC game and would rather sit near State fans if possible. IIRC, they're in one of the top corners...just dunno which corners.

mostly accurate, though I guess Syracuse was our WTF win, unless we beat the the tar holes. and I certainly hope I'm wrong about that and we do.

^Yeah, been kicking around the idea myself. Seems like the weather may be fairly mild that Saturday according to some long range weather models, so I wouldn't be sad if it was a 12:30 game.

Yeah I actually wouldn't mind it being a noon kick off. Especially with it getting dark earlier now...a 3:30 kick is liable to be kinda cold by the end of the game.

From what I've seen of UNC, their run D is non-existent. I'd love to see us run the ball like we did against Wake. Only threw, I think, 18 passes. If we can hold onto the ball and not turn it over, establish a strong run, and keep our D off the field as much as possible we can win. But I'm still not overly optimistic. Their offense is scary.

I'd love to have a bball arena on campus (or at least, walkably close to campus). Football, no way.

It was good we got the run game going against Wake. The one big advantage we have on UNC is our run game vs their run defense. Need to wear their asses out on the ground.

Hopefully we'll actually run the dang ball against UNC. We're averaging over 5 yards per carry on the season, and the Wake game seems like the first time all season we've actually decided to commit to the run

Before the season started we were given odds at o/u 5.5 wins. We've already met expectations and will get a bowl invite.

Even though I shouldn't, somehow I still feel like this season was a disappointment.

^I think some of that had to do with FSU and Clemson being our first two ACC opponents.

"Dayes is all-purpose star

Matt Dayes had a huge game against Wake Forest scoring three times to propel NC State to bowl eligibility. For the season, Dayes now has 469 rushing yards and six TDs on the ground, 303 receiving yards and five TDs through the air, plus another 379 yards returning kicks.

Dayes is one of just two players in the country to top 300 yards in rushing, receiving and returns this year, but he's the only player with 300-plus yards rushing and receiving along with five or more TDs rushing and receiving.

That dual-threat stat (300/300 and 5/5) is something just 12 other AQ-conference players have done in the past decade, and some of the names are worth noting: Todd Gurley, De'Anthony Thomas, Giovanni Bernard, Montee Ball, Randall Cobb, DeMarco Murray, Brian Leonard and Percy Harvin. Not bad company for NC State's sophomore tailback."

^That's impressive.

And ^^, I'll kinda second that. Not that I had particularly high hopes for this team (was thinking 6 or 7 wins was reasonable given the schedule), but I guess I got too caught up in the FSU game. And thought that we might actually be significantly better than we ended up being. In reality, the first half of the FSU game was a total outlier for the season. And the team we saw struggle with Ga Southern was much closer to who we actually are.

Did some glancing around at bowl projections and the opponents I saw were ECU, UCF (in St. Pete), and Michigan.

Plz to get Michigan. That's the only one we can win.

Other than the loss to BC this season went about as expected other than how close some our cupcake games actually were. Winning this week at UNC would put us slightly over on wins, but mostly I dont wanna lose to those smug cheating assholes yet again.

A good story on senior Art Norman. He's had the third most sacks in Wolfpack History.

And I wasn't aware that he has his degree in mathematics!

Quote :
"It sounds so nerdy, but getting a big sack and solving a tough math problem give me the same feeling,” says the postgraduate student who earned his degree last year in mathematics. “In math, you might try to solve a problem a couple of times and each time you get closer and closer and finally you get it. It’s like finally getting through to that quarterback.”"

"With 33 career tackles for loss, 23.5 career sacks and 65 QB pressures, Norman has certainly become known as a disruptor. "

If you expected to beat BC this year, you need to work on your methods for developing expectations. At that rate, you'll probably expect an acc championship next season.

"Brissett was hot from the opening drive, as he used a 19-yard run to help set up his own 17-yard sprint to the end zone to take a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. In the second, he nearly reached the end zone again as he ripped off a 60-yard dash in the second quarter.

After the game, Brissett credited his blockers for his success.

“It’s a credit to the offensive line,” Brissett said. “They gave me those chances to make those plays, and credit to the receivers on the outside for really blocking it.”"

Will Bauman is the only State player selected to the All-ACC team. He is the 1st-team punter. Out of 3 all-conference teams, no one else made the list. Shad, Norman, and Teal received honorable mention but didn't make the cut.

For what it's worth, UNC had no 1st team selections, but 3 overall.

It would be nice to complete the Belk Cycle (Since 2011 State, UNC, Duke, and now State again)

However, if Belk wins the draw for Notre Dame I can't imagine them passing on it.

If Michigan State is in the Orange, Peach, Fiesta, or Cotton, Bowl, then the Citrus gets Clemson, meaning Louisville gets Russell Athletic.

It's annoying he doesn't get the credit he's due. Anywhere else, where he'd get touches and a decent line, he'd be putting up insane numbers.

Yeah, Thornton's touch numbers this year still don't make much sense to me. We utilize Dayes perfectly IMO, but Thornton should get the majority of the touches for designed run plays.

I'm trying to figure out what's best for us today. There's a possbility the Big Ten gets 3 teams into the top tier bowls if Wisconsin wins, bumping up all ACC slots. If anything, we want a Wisconsin win. If the Big Ten gets the Citrus, there's a chance we get bumped down to tier 2 and have to play (sigh) ECU.
