If Seattle's last play would of resulted in a touchdown the announcers, Seattle nation, and fans would be licking Carroll's nuts and telling how smart of a play it was but since it backfired everyone's like what a fucking stupid play, should of ran the ball, Russel should of audibled, shouldofdonethisdonethatwhatthefuckman. He took a risk and it backfired in the absolute worst way possible. Live & learn. Also, that doesn't qualify as NC State shit as it was too epic of a collapse on the biggest stage of all football. I shall create a new category called NC State diarrhea." |
Nah. The entire nation of Seahawks fans yelled BEAST MODE in unison before that play, then were all dumbfounded at what occurred. A successful play can still be the result of a horrible play call. That one would have been no different.2/2/2015 11:16:14 AM |

Seattle wouldn't have even been playing last night if not for some gutsy playcalling throughout the season and playoffs by Carroll. The guy calls fake punts and onside kicks and stuff. Yet you expect him to transform into John Fox for one play? 2/2/2015 12:25:42 PM |

I doubt that. If Seattle would of Waltz into the end zone on that last throw I believe everybody would be talking about how good of a play call it was. I wouldn't call it a horrible play call as they were trying to catch NE off guard. They went with a play they had previous success with and NE just made a great defensive play.

I didn't follow SEA that much this year but in the AFC championships he made some bold calls with the fake field goal and having Russel throw a long pass in overtime when he previously threw a record breaking amount of picks.

Just because Seattle's offense leans on the running game doesn't mean Carroll is anywhere near a conservative play caller 2/2/2015 1:31:17 PM |

You have to make bold calls when you're down double digits in the Conference Championship game. And Russel was the one who checked into that long pass play.

He has consistently, over the last two years, kicked field goals on 4th and short and ran the ball on third and intermediate instead of passing the ball. He was Ron Rivera before he became Steamboat Ron.2/2/2015 1:52:42 PM |

This was from 3 years ago, and it only accounts going for it on 4th down (when you don't "have" to), and he's in the top 3rd of the league as far as most aggressive coaches
http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stat-analysis/2012/aggressiveness-index-2011
I don't ever recall "Steamboat" Ron faking a field goal or calling an onsides kick to start the 2nd half, or many of the other things that Carroll does
Does Seattle like to hand the ball to Lynch a lot? Sure. Lots of coaches want to get the running game going. Meanwhile look back at the Hawks/Saints game in the playoffs last year. Hawks are up 2 scores late in the 4th, and Wilson is throwing on 1st down. As someone who has seen hundreds of games coached by John Fox and Ron Rivera, it's not even close
or this
Quote : | "Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll faced accusations of running up the score after his team laid a 58-0 whooping on the Arizona Cardinals last week.
Carroll can expect more of the same this week after the Seahawks converted a first down on a fake punt against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The Seahawks had a 30-point lead at the time in a game they ultimately won 50-17.
With 12:49 to play in the fourth quarter, Seahawks punt protector Chris Maragos took the direct snap, stepped to his right and flipped the ball to running back Michael Robinson, who darted through the middle for a 29-yard gain.
It was a neat little play, but one we're sure the Bills thought little of while trailing 47-17." |

Not sure it proves much running a fake punt up by 30 in the 4th quarter other than he is sorta a dick. I'd say he is in the middle. He is willing to take chances at times, but also knows his defense is really strong so doesn't need to give them short fields when they tend to hold people. Seems more than anything he runs some trick plays/takes shots mixed in with his conservative nature that work well as they are unexpected. 2/2/2015 2:31:57 PM |

Take it back. Sapp got a problem...from 2010:
Quote : | "Sapp's girlfriend told cops that during the argument Sapp "grabbed her and began to choke her." He eventually threw her out of the room, she claims.
When cops spoke to Sapp, he told them he had allowed the woman to stay in his room -- but later on decided he wanted her to leave because "he was expecting company." He told police he was trying to help her and she fell." |
