I mean, why bother? Just for the novelty of being a shareholder and advisory voting against Elon Musk's executive compensation plans?

Yeah if I had only been allocated 1 I would have sold it by now, or bought more on opening day

I like to get 1 share of any new IPO and just hold it. If it fizzles out, so what. If it goes up over time, sure, great.

I guess that's kind of an interesting experiment and could be fun to look back on.

I bought the day it IPOed planning to lose money.

I'll buy more once it drops below $150. I mean, $120 might be more of my range. It seems unlikely that it won't ever get there, but who knows.

It'll probably be volatile, completely all over the place just like TSLA was. But then have a modest 2x-3x return after 10 years, but still trading at 150 P/E multiplier.

I know, I'm reaching real far here for 2036. Even a 3x return would actually be "meh" compared to the S&P lately.

But I do believe in space development. I'm not in it for the money. This is our private-sector NASA. I would throw a bone to Blue Origin (a smaller bone), but they're a looong way off in 2nd place.

Confusing wording as he said it seems UNLIKELY that it WON'T ever get there.

I think he meant it was unlikely to go as low as $120 #frogwhisperer

Sure, that's one of two possible interpretations that mean exactly the opposite of one another.

some retrospective from a year ago to inform our prospective

"where else is capital gonna go these days anyways (other than paying down the national debt a few percent or jumpstarting UBI). M7 is sitting on half a trillion bucks with no idea what to do with it for the last decade, let alone institutional investors and various sovereign wealth funds wanting in on the action. might as well put the chips on the bet of the century. hard to imagine we could ever over-extend ourselves on building out compute and the requisite power capacity anyways. Amazon went how long without being profitable? and in the end we got global-scale e-commerce AND profits. We can do the same thing with AI, no need to rush into profitability demands. We can relatively comfortably keep putting money into AI until we beat China, benchmaxxing stalls out or God ends up popping out of one of these things, whatever happens first.
