My 2.5 year old daughter went to try out a kids dance class today. i was trying to watch her to see how she'd do, but it was difficult to see without constantly distracting her, so i stuck an iphone in the door window and watched it in video mode from the side.

after a few minutes, a security guard walked by and gave me a look, and i realized what it must look like to see a grown man standing out of view behind a door, video recording a bunch of 2-5 year old girls in their leotards

I feel like a horrible pet owner

I've begun crating my dog while at work, so now she sleeps all day and stays up at night. I don't want to crate her at night, but I need sleep and I'd feel awful crating her for 16 hours a day. At my house in Gastonia I would just let her out the door whenever she wanted and she could just roam the area running around at full speed to her hearts delight. Now I've moved her into an apartment where she only gets walked on a leash. I'd take her to a dog park but she's real skittish around other dogs. Theres a vertical window by my front door and she spends a lot of time just looking out of it. I keep telling myself that it's only for 6 months and then I'll have a house with a yard.
