No, what a normal person does is to NOT accuse someone that they dont even know (and know ZERO % of the circumstances) of stealing something.

Dude. You didn't know the beta was under an NDA. It's painfully obvious that you didn't acquire it by legal methods.
I mean, I don't care that you stole it. Just don't sit there and ask me (two times) how you stole it, when you did, in fact, steal it.

no, you are assuming again. Nowhere did I state that I did or did not know about the NDA. You have no idea what my knowledge of the NDA is... All I stated was that if it was enforced then a LOT of authors are guilty. If you are in a technical field, which I am guessing you are, I can see why. You are horrible at communicating with people. You constantly misrepresent what they say, assume things as facts, and generally just dont listen.
but anyways, this is clogging up one of my favorite threads, so back on topic. If you want to argue more PM me.

I'm not assuming anything. You already admitted you didn't have legal access to the file. I have no idea what your knowledge of the NDA is? Well I'd say you asking me if people writing articles were breaking it would be a pretty strong clue that you didn't know it even existed before I brought it up. The fact that you broke it many times in this thread tells me, at a best case scenario, you don't care about it, and a more likely scenario is that you had to google to figure out what NDA stood for.
Either way, good job on completely redirecting the conversation away from the fact that you are the prime example of a person that should not be using the beta in the first place.

Just cant let it go can you?
Where did I explicitly admit that I got access to it illegally? I didnt. In fact, I said the opposite as a result of your constant grilling which I guess was some weak attempt at a "test" Do you know what a rhetorical question is? (and that wasnt one by the way). If you do, then you would realize that you know nothing about my knowledge of what an NDA is... So yes, you are assuming everything. And you are making a fool out of yourself in public by not even paying attention to what you are talking about. I tried to give you an easy out, but no, you have to keep on assuming what you THINK has occurred is fact.
Your lack of communication skills is stunning.

Stop blaming your complete lack of anything resembling reading comprehension on my communication skills. I'm sorry you don't understand what I'm saying, but that's on your feeble brain, and not due to any fault of mine.
I asked you if you had access to the dev portal or if you just got someone to add your udid, and you said "added". Maybe your poor communication skills are coming into play here, but unless "added" means "access to the dev portal" then that means you still had to acquire the file somehow. Which means you stole it. Not that that's really the point I was trying to make in the first place. Even if you did come by it legally, you're still not the type of person that should be using it and you're especially not the type of person that should be talking about it on a public forum. Actually, if you did come by it legally then you would have known not to talk about it on a public forum.] 6/26/2013 12:35:34 AM |

so, according to you, every article written about iOS7 is by people that are completely unaware of the NDA. Classic "I'm smarter than them there fellas"
Also, "I've hired a contractor to create my apps. Should I enroll in the iOS Developer Program?
If you plan to distribute apps on the App Store with your legal entity name as the “Seller”, you need to enroll in the iOS Developer Program. You can add your contractor to your development team so they can access the resources they need to create the app through your account. Do this by inviting them to your team through the People page in Member Center. While you must be the one who submits the app for review, you can get assistance from your contractor."
Or it means I was given the file by someone that hired me as a contractor. Which I stated about 20 posts ago. Why would someone I am working for just add my udid and not allow me access to the file? Makes no sense

Now who's misrepresenting whom? I didn't say that everyone writing an article about iOS 7 didn't know about the NDA. It's possible to talk about the things that are already in public domain without breaking the NDA. It's also possible to know about the NDA and not care, but reputable blogs don't normally do things like that. I already admitted the possibility if that being the case with you. Although, admittedly, I do assume that isn't the case because you've given no indication that you knew anything about an NDA before I brought it up. Actually quite the opposite.
Quote : | "Or it means I was given the file by someone that hired me as a contractor. Which I stated about 20 posts ago. Why would someone I am working for just add my udid and not allow me access to the file? Makes no sense" |
That's just as legal as using a torrent. Unless you have your own login to the dev portal, it's against the terms of the developer contract to distribute copyrighted software.
As far as why someone would add your udid, I've PMed people here on TWW before to get them to add mine. You can buy access for $8 online. It's not uncommon for people to add udids, but it is uncommon for them to grant you full access to the dev portal. ]6/26/2013 12:43:06 AM |
Jaybee1200 Suspended 56200 Posts user info edit post |
No, I didnt make a single statement (except for the rhetorical one that I have now stated 30 times) that would give you ANY information if I knew or didnt know. I still havent. So ANY conclusion you drawn on that is based only on your own assumptions. Plain and simple.
More assumptions:
Quote : | "Now who's misrepresenting whom? I didn't say that everyone writing an article about iOS 7 didn't know about the NDA. It's possible to talk about the things that are already in public domain without breaking the NDA. It's also possible to know about the NDA and not care" |
But you had just said: "if you did come by it legally then you would have known not to talk about it on a public forum." Therefore you are saying that "according to you, every article written about iOS7 is by people that are completely unaware of the NDA" because if they did come by it legally, they would know. Or that every single author that has written about it acquired it illegally. Either way, your argument is garbage.

And yet you still haven't said that any of my assumptions are wrong. Just that they theoretically could be.
While still managing to divert the conversation away from the real point. I don't care HOW you came to access the beta, only that you specifically shouldn't have. Even if it was through legal means.
And I'm not really sure how me calling you out for being a dumbass translates to every author of an article on iOS 7 being a dumbass like you, but then again your brain isn't quite up to snuff with this whole logic thing. ] 6/26/2013 12:49:46 AM |
Jaybee1200 Suspended 56200 Posts user info edit post |
That's the whole point. You shouldnt assume things like that unless you KNOW, not based on fucking guessing. The original point is you dont accuse someone of stealing unless you KNOW that they did it. I dont care about your opinion at all, if you THINK I stole it, or if you THINK I shouldnt have access even if legally, I dont care. You know jack shit about me. Your opinion is meaningless to me.
But when you stated that I explicitly admitted that I did in fact steal it, which I didnt, then we have a problem.

I mean, you're getting all wrapped up in this stealing thing, which, for the 100th time, is beside the point. I already said I apologize if you did acquire it by legal methods, and you didn't come forward to accept my apology. You also did admit that your former employee illegally distributed the file to you. Which is theft. So it's not really my opinion here, but your admitted facts.
Quote : | "Post right above you buddy. I spelled it out nice and easy for you." |
and I've already given you examples of how legitimate articles could be written about iOS7 without breaking the NDA. And said that, yes, people that don't know or care about it are quite common. So congrats on not being the only dumbass on the internet, I guess? ]6/26/2013 12:57:50 AM |
Jaybee1200 Suspended 56200 Posts user info edit post |
No. Once again, reread it. I didn't say a former employer illegally gave it to me. Never stated that anywhere. Once more, assumptions. I did state that someone that I had done contract work with in the past provided me access. You assumed illegally. I never stated that. They could, and have, hired me to do further work and therefore gave me access (as I noted earlier with the quote from Apple).
Apology accepted.
And you stated that if someone acquired it legally they would know about the NDA. And therefore since I posted something on here, the I obviously didnt know about it and therefore must have acquires it illegally. Therefore, using that logic, anyone that mentions it must not have acquired it legally. Which is stupid.
Once more, back on subject please. This is pointless

You had said that I had said that I acquired it illegally. I never said that. You cant "quote" someone and just add in your own words. In fact, I said the opposite of that, I said that I did acquire it legally... now, you may think I am lying, so you can have the OPINION that I am lying and the opinion that I actually did steal it, but you have NO way of knowing that for a fact. A fact would be something like "El Nacho is an ignorant dumbfuck with horrible communication and reading abilities."
Its at the point now where you cant be this dumb and have to be trolling. So, once again, to stop wasting everyone's time, back to the subject at hand. I will even let you get your precious last word in below as long as it isnt especially ignorant.

No you didn't. You said someone gave it to you. As I have said, at least 5 times now, the ONLY way to acquire it legally is for someone to add you to their dev account with full login access to the dev portal. Unless you were lying earlier, this did not happen. Therefore you acquired it illegally.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse.

I'll contribute some fluff to get this to another page, but a recent search of threads hes been participating in seems to confirm my suspicions.
Basically he starts being a stupid dick, then he gets made fun of (usually a fat joke), then he whines for awhile about he always gets picked on, then the thread dies.
Or he comes back on the next page and continues his mewing drama. Someone even recently compared him to the user "God" (which is a helluva thing). 6/26/2013 7:32:14 PM |

While we're on the subject, I never understood the point in padding to get a thread to another page in threads with stupid arguments like this. It's a giant wall of text. It's not like somebody posted something gross like goatse, or a picture of thumper's face or something. It's text. How is this text any different than something from 6 months ago that's no longer relevant anymore? Is it really that hard to scroll to the bottom and read the new replies? How will being on a new page make jaybee any less of an idiot? I'm really not understanding the logic in padding to get to another page. But either way, here's my contribution to the effort. 6/26/2013 7:37:45 PM |

if it gets padded to the next page, there is just hope that i can go to the last page in a thread and not scroll for five minutes to find the next readable post.

You still didn't say this is any different from any other slow moving page where there are old posts from several months ago that are no longer relevant. It's a fucking message board. You should expect to see messages on pages. That's kind of how they work. Do you read every single post on the last page of every thread you read on here every time you visit it?
And seriously, if it takes you 5 minutes to scroll to the bottom of a page, you're doing something incredibly wrong. I know you're just being overly dramatic to make a point, but honestly, even if all of the posts here were great, you'd still only read them one time and move on. How is scrolling past quality posts any different from scrolling past dumb ones? Furthermore, who still scrolls to the bottom of long pages these days anyway? Between keyboard shortcuts, mouse gestures, and the button, you really shouldn't be taking 5 seconds to get to the bottom of the page, much less 5 minutes.6/26/2013 8:50:11 PM |

I thought about trying just using the phone, then thought about a kind of basic dock, then I said fuck it, I really just want a regular alarm clock that I can charge my phone next to, so I got this http://www.amazon.com/Timex-Decorative-Alarm-Clock-Charging/dp/B004I8WHC4. It's got a usb plug so I can just plug the phone connector in, it's got two alarms, sleep, nap, battery backup, progressive beep, adjustable brightness, and a light. No radio, don't need one, just an alarm clock. I'm happy with it, I really wanted this http://www.furnicreations.com/product/alba-me-walnut but they said they aren't going to make any more. 7/2/2013 11:52:51 PM |
