Haven't posted here in a while. I've been getting beatup lately. This one hand was fucking. stupid. I had a 78 suited on the big blind on a limp pot, with this cock trying to slow play KK behind me somewheres...I drew trips and a flush draw, check it down to him; he's betting big. I'm all what the fuck, reraise him, thus churns the inevitable all-in, and he draws a King on the river. Shit like that has summed up my last week pretty much.

Oh, and I'm playing a little bit higher stakes now. Nothing to impress anybody with, but damned if the cards don't all move about the same for the most part...

what is the overall consensus here about the best site to play on? i have played at stars and bodog and have had issues with both...but am not convinced that any other site is better

Depends on what you play: ring games, tournys, what stakes? I'm much more profitable on stars than I am on FT (I play both 10nl and 25nl due to not waiting to build a roll) even with the rakeback on FT. I like the tourny structures at FT better, but am still more profitable on Stars (which is why I just unloaded my BR from FT). And I had to use ultraprepaid to withdraw from FT, costing me at least $5 each time and taking as long as 20 days, as opposed to free checks from Stars in a week. Haven't played on any other sites.

Just got back from AC, played 1/2 and 2/5 at Harrahs and Borgata this weekend, along with a tournament at Harrahs. Fun weekend, terrible luck.

Played in the 65+15 12:15am Harrahs tournaments on Fri/Sat morning. 10,000 starting chips, 20 mins blinds, 55 runners. Played until 5:30am only to final table, finish in 9th, and watch them chop at 8...good times.

Harrahs 1/2 cash game. 9 handed, tight/passive guido makes it 15 pre, I have AA and make it 45, he flats. Stacking is roughly equal, ~200 behind. Flop is 9 high rainbow, no coordination. He bets about the pot, I auto shove. He tanks for a min or 2, calls with QQ. Turn Q, gg me.

Borgata 2/5 cash game. I bought in short for 300, played for ~6 hours, up to ~1200. Drunk guy has played every hand for ~2 hrs and has already dropped almost 2k at the table. He had just won a huge pot to double by getting it all in pre against the other solid TAG at the table by 9Ts > KK so he is sitting with ~1000. He bets his standard opening of 50 pre, I look down at AA and make it 200, he flats. Flop is A T 7 rainbow he leads out for 300, I jam it, he insta calls and shows JKo. River Q, again gg me.

So rather than coming home with a considerable amount of money (to me at least) I took a few dumb beats and lost a little bit. Oh well, definitely will be heading back soon.

My thoughts are this. If you ant to have some of the biggest swings ever, play PLO. It may have seemed easy, and honestly it is, but there are always some really crappy and or really sick hands out there just calling you down for pot odds, and they will hit a lot. I mean, seriously, there are times when folding the nuts is the right play.

you can just flat his raise instead of 3-betting, and you don't have to call his 4bet shove knowing you are probably way behind (50/50 at best, but his range is WAY ahead of yours to be 4bet shoving here).
