Bill Madison is to Happy Gilmore, what hamburger is to steak.

And Waterboy trumps all.

Obama has shown supperior judgement in the past. There is no doubt he will be able to ally with foreign leaders who hate america as much as his prior associations.

Anyone that thinks the actions of a couple of people associated with Obama... has any bearing at all on the quality of his character or ability to run this country - should seriously consider logging off of TWW immediately and never coming back.

How many people have a relative, co-worker, friend, colleague, etc. that has gotten in trouble with the law or whatever? Does that mean you can't perform your job or daily tasks? No. Stop creating a different set of logic to Obama just because you don't support him. It's silly and beneath you as an educated adult.

I just want to go on record that some of the blowhards in this thread and others can go shove it. Tonight Obama kicked her ass square into the ground and all the stupid dramas I told you wouldn't matter, didn't matter.

She's out of room, yard sticks, goal posts, measuring tape, fuzzy math calculators, kitchen sinks. Time to hang it up, b/c even the media ain't buying it anymore.

Kainen,

No one ever expected Obama to lose North Carolina or for the race to even be tight. He won primaries in our neighboring states, independents can vote in our primary (he seems to do well there, lord knows why), and we have a relatively large black population.

We are essentially exactly where we were Monday. Though Obama slightly increased his lead in delegates, neither of them have a chance of winning all the delegates they need to secure the nomination. So we're right back where we were.

Assuming neither of the candidates drop out, this will all come down to the super delegates. And their decision will likely come down to their own personal feelings of who can win the race. I mean, do you really think someone like Ted Kennedy will cast his super delegate vote for Hillary, even though the Democrats of the state he represents want her to be their nominee? Fuck no.

IMO: Hillary has just as much claim on the nomination as Obama. These are the party's rules and if you don't like 'em, tough nuggets.

msnbc had blacks making up 1/3 of primary voters in NC, and he carried 92%. There is your difference.

Congrats to all you obama fans. Im dreading the debate between mccain and obama, but im hoping people will look past the delivery and listen to what they are saying...its our only hope.

eyedrb,

Indeed. If McCain does his home work and shows up confident, he has plenty of good ideas (removing tax benefit of employer provided insurance, the necessity of America's continued presense in Iraq, etc) and there are soooooo many points he can land on Obama (his inconsistant position on Iraq, his ill concieved health care program, his poor excuse for an energy policy). It should really be a blood bath.

McCain is much looser and engaged during debates than he is during speeches, so i think this will really be his strong suit. But Obama has crashed and burned in debates before and it hasn't hurt him. Maybe it will be different in the GE since McCain's and Obama's policy positions are so different? Who knows.

socks...socks. Dude, you are delusional!

She had to get momentum last night and the exact opposite happened. She got taken to the watershed in NC (+15 points) and he gained more popular vote and delegates than losing OMG BELLWETHER Pennsyvlania. So her argument there got waxed.

In Indiana, it was essentially as split (1.4 or something) difference in vote which is well in the margin of error. When doing the math of the republican crossover vote in that election, many people esimtated 2 to even 4% was 'hostile' crossover - as in, Fat Rush's Operation Chaos. Everyone knows that was a big win, moral or otherwise for Obama.

And more importantly, the narrative has completely changed. Hell, NYT has a big blown up picture of Hillary and the words TOAST! in some ridiculous oversized font. This is the same newspaper that is in her camp. All of the papers and media outlets have switched narratives and no longer buy the fucking spin.

Right now Hillary's campaign is like the team in basketball down 20 points with a minute left but continues to foul. It's pointless. You know it, I know it, and most importantly now, the MEDIA knows it.

Good night, sweet dreams. Here we come McCain.

More bad news for Hillary - she has to drop now or she'll just go down in history as the bitchiest bitch in American history

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/05/07/mcgovern-to-clinton-time-to-go/

Quote :
"(CNN) — Former Democratic presidential candidate and South Dakota Sen. George McGovern is switching his support to Barack Obama and actively urging Hillary Clinton to drop out of the presidential race, CNN has confirmed.

McGovern is not a Democratic superdelegate, though he is the first major Clinton supporter to publicly suggest the New York senator should abandon her presidential bid following Tuesday night's results.

According to the Associated Press, McGovern now feels it is impossible for Clinton to win the nomination following her tight win in Indiana and bruising defeat in North Carolina.

Responding to the news, Clinton spokesman Mo Elleithee said "Senator Clinton appreciates Senator McGovern's friendship, but believes the voters in the upcoming states should have their voices heard in this process."

McGovern formally endorsed Clinton last October, saying then, "I think that if we can elect her president, she'll be a greater president even than her brilliant husband."

McGovern has been a longtime friend of both Clintons. The couple's long political career has its roots in McGovern's 1972 presidential campaign, during which both Clintons were dispatched to Texas to run the candidate's operation there.

McGovern told the AP he will call former President Clinton to inform him of his decision. He also said he will remain a good friend of the Clintons.

yeah sarijoul, remember those "2" questions that were asked when terpball gave 2 completely different answers even though you yourself said the questions were asking the same thing? have you already forgotten about that?

the fact that somebody has any kind of problem at all with the validity of the assertion that "obama gets some extra black votes because he is black and hillary gets some extra female votes because she is a female" shows they're irrationally defensive for no good reason
