Before I comment, I want to go on record in saying that Dan Quayle made a lot of stupid comments as VP, but. . .
1. Candace Bergen did say that she agreed with VP Quayle (although it took her 10 years). Not saying it's right or wrong, just throwing that out.
2. Regarding the POTATOE incident: VP Quayle was in a horrible position here. He was in the classroom to witness a staged spelling bee. He had some flashcards that the teacher had created, and the kids were going to come up and spell the words on the flashcards. Easy, right? Not exactly. He asked if the cards had been checked for accuracy, and was assured they had been, but the word "potato" was misspelled on the cards that everyone could see (along with about 15 other words in the list that they never got to). So, what was he to do? Call out the teacher for being a fucktard or take the hit?
Again, he said a lot of stupid things, but accuracy is the best policy.9/4/2008 4:54:28 PM |

djeternal:
Can't find any credible links for that issue. The only thing that hints at credibility is the you tube video of Quayle holding the cards, but nothing concrete to indicate it was misspelled on the cards.
And, since it happened 16 years ago, I'm not digging anymore. Suffice it to say, however, that we all can find Quayle gaffes, and he was not a public speaker.
Oh, and TKE, it's potatoes. Glass houses and all. 9/4/2008 5:10:43 PM |

hey dude, I liked Quayle. Liked Bush Sr. too. Dan Quayle is actually very intelligent, he just made bonehead mistakes when people were looking. Kinda like you can go years without tripping and falling, but the one time you do trip and fall it is at graduation or some shit.
^ it is

That was not why Dan the man protested. He was upset be Brown thought she could raise her son without a man. Did you not see the father at the RNC?
