TKE-Teg, how tall are you? I'm just under 6'2", and the stock bar is nowhere near tall enough for me, I just flat out wouldn't personally track with it, no matter what the rules of a track are (keep in mind, in my younger, stupider days I did a lot of spirited mountain driving that was way more dangerous than track anyways, so this is a recent relevation lol...no judgement intended).

The interesting thing is, despite my car being stripped, I can return it completely to stock if I want to, besides a few holes in the body. By leaving the interior out, I don't have to cut any plastic interior parts like you do if you put it back in. The roll bar is bolt-in.

I don't ever really plan to sell mine though, it's pretty much my dream car and always has been. The only things I can see upgrading to are in the range of Arial Atoms, Ultima GTR's, Caterham 7's, etc, and even then if I can afford one of those I can probably afford to keep the S2000 too hah.

I hear ya man. I'm just under 6'2" as well and the stock bar is nowhere near tall enough for me either, especially with a helmet on. However in my opinion I'm safer on the track than driving around town or commuting to work, thanks to all the distracted and uneducated idiots cruising the public streets. So I don't worry about sticking my neck out on the track, so to speak.

Is your stock convertible top going to fit over the aftermarket roll bar? Because based on some "eyeball" measurements I took I don't see how it is possible for an aftermarket roll bar to provide adequate rollover protection for people of our height without being too tall for the convertible top.

^ The soft top will fit over it, barely. I've read that the top may rub the bar as it goes over. I believe it's the same bar Quinn has, he might have experience with that although he's got a hard top now.

As far as height for me goes, it's definitely better than stock, but I still may have to take some padding out of the stock seats or go with racing buckets to get low enough, we'll see once the bar is in.

It's definitely a significant improvement over stock though. Keep in mind also that the stock bar is shorter than it looks by a few inches because of the plastic shroud around it. Here's a pic that shows the difference clearly:

Have you considered getting seat lowering brackets? They sound like a good idea, but from a geometric point of view I think that would reduce leg room.

As far as interior parts that need to be removed for the rollbar (if you don't want to cut anything) do you have to remove the storage bins between the seats? I ask b/c the lack of them would be a real PITA in my opinion.

You can put the storage bins back in if you get a harness bar that is higher. For the proper height of harness bar, you have to leave all that stuff out. This isn't my DD, so I'll find another storage alternative. I'm thinking some small plastic Rubbermaid type bins secured to the back of the harness bar might work.

And yeah, new brackets for the stock seats might be an option, but before that I'll probably just go to racing buckets with flush mount brackets. I'll just have to see how it turns out once the bar is in...a lot of people our height seem to have a lot more trouble than I do with getting their head underneath the roll bar (both stock and aftermarket) so maybe I have a short torso, I dunno

You would have to lower your seat. My bar clears fine with the oem soft top. With a helmet I would technically fail. Its really damn close though. I'm a legit 6' (as opposed to online dating 6').

I have the majority of the interior back in. I purchased replacements for everything i cut out of a totaled car for ~50$ shipped. The stock roll hoops and associated plastic are completely removed from my car. I cant open the top bin as it and the plastic window fold up thing hit the horizontal bar. The passenger side seat belt mechanisim which is behind the seat is bright pink! Thanks honda!!!!!!!!!111111

I would snap pics if it were not raining and cold.

pull each fuse individually then check the draw. when it stops, you at least know which circuit is the culprit.

yeah that was exactly what i had decided to do, i tried pulling them and seeing if there was a draw across the fuse it's self but leads don't fit in the fuse holes.

a multimeter with amperage setting. not all have it, but lots do.

as far as leads not fitting, i would disconnect a battery cable, and put the meter inline between the battery terminal and cable, and leave the meter on. Then pull each fuse and wait for the reading to drop.
It will never read zero, but it should be obvious when you pull the correct fuse.

Rolled my 1999 Sentra last night

Asshat on US52 outside winston salem missed his exit last night and decided to brake hard and swerve across traffic VERY suddenly. I got tagged in my passenger side front quarter panel (exit was on the left side of the freeway), went airborne, came down on my drivers side quarter panel, slid a ways, rolled onto my roof, slid for another 50 yards and came to a rest, still upside-down. Climbed out the window with nothing but a little rash on my hand from the airbag. Considering the failure of the A-pillars, I could easily be seriously injured, so I feel pretty lucky.

The driver stayed, as did all the shocked witnesses, so there was a lot of folks to fill in the gaps. Geico took liability today! Here's to hoping they treat me right. Thanks for all the well wishes, guys.

Funny story: About ten minutes after the accident, I was escorted into the ambulance to make absolutely certain that I was okay. While checking my vitals, the EMT looked at me asked what my blood pressure usually runs. I told him, "Normal, if not a little low." He responds, seemingly surprised, "Hmmm, I was just wondering because it's a little high..." Contrary to his reaction, I'm guessing that it's perfectly normal for your blood pressure to rise a little after sliding down the highway at 70mph on your head.

Truck has been getting bad gas mileage for the past few tanks and seemed down on power. Finally got a CEL which pointed to the TPS. Replaced the TPS and put in a new fuel filter and air filter while I was at it. Seems to be running better according to the butt dyno. Will wait for the next tank to see how the gas mileage is.

Hit the possum two weeks ago.
Talked to the body shop about the GTI.
The impact broke a motor mount. Sheared the metal clear apart.
It explains why the tow truck was having such a hard time getting enough clearance under the oil pan.
It also explains why the throttle doby hose tore. It was trying to hold up the right side of the motor.
New bumper and skirts are in now, and it goes to paint early next week.
Then they get to go under the car to see if anything else was damaged in the suspension.

Changed the oil in the MX-3. Also noticed some hesitation and cold start idling issues since the weather has been getting cold. Checked the usual culprits. Ended up gapping the spark plugs back to spec and now it's smooth as lard.

175k miles going strong. w00t.

My RB20 starter was going bad. Never really spun smoothly and always made weird noises. Recently it started intermittently working. My friend has a RB26 that he is building. I bought the starter from him. Man what a nice upgrade.
