How about you faggots stop trying to psychoanalyze some guy you never met from behind the keyboard.

I know it's hard for you losers to only have informed opinions, but Leslie happens to be our best player regardless of what dumbass opinion you have.

He is not our best player when he acts like he did today. In fact we were better without him today.

how many fast breaks is he going to lose before he stops trying to dribble the length of the court?

He just forces WAY too much. Not an ego issue, just feels like too much of the game is on him. Hope the coaches can figure out a way work around it because he is the only player than can consistently get to the rim. (and fucking get blocked)

Obviously he has his ups and downs, but last night he seemed like the only one that actually wanted the ball. It was like nobody wanted the ball after we got down big and at least Leslie was willing to take the ball and with it some a lot of the blame. Of course we can't have him forcing it, but it is better than mailing it in and checking out mentally like he has done in the past.

At the end of the game, he still probably thinks he can score on Henson in the post. Dumb.

yeah but to be fair he had 8 rebounds and i think 3 steals. Everyone else on the team had 1 rebound.

And i agree at some point he was the only one who wanted the ball, even though he clearly wasn't able to get good shots against Henson.

4-12 FG and 3-4 FT isn't THAT bad against Henson when you combine the rebounds and steals.

We just need him to pick his spots better and be more like 3-7 FG and 3-4 FT and someone else needs to step up and score for us when CJL has a horrible matchup like that.

I'm worried this will never get through to his thick head.

One thing I HOPE last night did was convince him and NBA scouts that he's definitely not ready for the league. He's a SF in the league and he has ZERO perimeter game. He's got a lot of work to do.

CJ LESLIE was one of the few guys who actually showed up to play last night. I'm not gonna complain about him trying to take the team on his back and making some mistakes. Hell, if he didn't have the ball, brown would probably have just thrown it away or somebody would have put up a ridiculous shot.

I'd rather see the other 4 guys stay back and wait for defense while Calvin plays 1 v 5 than watch another Howell/Painter 18 footer.

I liked his jab step that he tried using on Henson.

I liked his breakaway slam.

He was pretty solid overall.

Yea, I still don't know why people are so hard on CJL including my dad. He has improved from last year and contributes a lot to the team. Maybe his body language is misunderstood but it isn't bad to me. CJL was in the game last night, Howell on the other hand. Stupid.

Eh, he just has stupid mental lapses sometimes. Two games in a row he dribbled the whole court and turned it over, leading to fast-breaks and points on the other end. Everybody but him seems to know what's going to happen when he takes off dribbling down the court.

Calvin did plenty of dumb stuff last night especially early in the second half. If you disagree you were't watching.

He does this at least once every game. He should be benched immediately if he ever puts the ball on the floor again after a rebound.

people are hard on leslie b/c he is super talented and just won't, for whatever reason, play fundamental basketball, despite the painfully poor results of him trying to run the game himself. howell makes silly plays sometimes, but they're things like missing a pass... not trying to run the floor in traffic at 6'7".

He did. But he also was one of the few players, I thought, who actually fought for the ball or a basket. He and Brown I thought made some bad decisions, but were the only two who played with any sort of passion.

...and that's only half of it. Twice in the span of a few minutes last night, he played one-on-five, bricked, failed to get back defense and left his man wide open to drain a jumper.

What I don't like is people who blow constructive criticism out of proportion. No one's calling for his head, just for him to actually use his head.

There is so much pressure on this guy because we all see that he has the physical tools to be elite, and our team is so shallow, we need him to be on pretty much every game.

Leslie should put in some tapes of Josh Howard and watch his transformation from an athletic forward with limited range to an NBA-ready slasher who could score from anywhere. When Howard came to Wake, he was an unpolished product who used his athleticism to rack up points and rebounds. He worked on his shot so much that by his senior year, he had NBA 3pt range. Leslie's future is at small forward if he wants to make it in the NBA. He needs to put the time in and develop his midrange game and ball-handling skills.

Man, Warrick had those Grundy-like proportions in a 6'9" frame. Dude's arms went on forever.

Yeah, Warrick is probably a more realistic comparison. I shudder at the thought of Leslie jacking up 3s the way Howard used to.

^ No, it did not.

And I just looked at the Mock Draft (like that shit holds any cred...but it's interesting nonetheless)...and it has Leslie going 29th....in the 2013 draft. Pretty accurate if you ask me. Needs to work on his perimeter game in the offseason.

yeah I saw him fussing at Johnson after the ally-oop attempt. It wasn't that bad of a pass - the GT defender just made a great play on the ball, like a DB in football breaking up a deep pass.
