the old Americans don't know what hardship is argument
you know if you don't count native americans, the first settlers, the civil war, the great depression, the last 4 years, and oh everyone in between
hardships can be relative to one another, doesn't make one not a hardship 11/2/2011 12:00:56 AM |

People in other countries live harder lives, therefore we should accept our cards and continue to allow a privileged minority to take advantage of everyone else.
but hey, at least someone has a sense of humor about the situation:

All sorts of fail going on in the camps. The stories of rapes and sexual assaults are leaking out despite the camps trying to keep all criminal activity private.
http://www.wfaa.com/news/Occupy-Dallas-man-arrested-for-sexual-assault-133033828.html
Quote : | "DALLAS — Dallas police have arrested a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a minor at the Occupy Dallas campsite downtown.
Richard Armstrong, 24, was charged with sexual assault of child and failure to register as a sex offender.
Armstrong was identified as the man who police said had sex with a [14 year old] runaway from Garland. The alleged incident happened in a tent at one of the encampments on or before Oct. 23.
Police received information that a 14-year-old runaway from Garland was at the camp. Police checked the area and found the girl. During an interview, she revealed that she had had sex with a man in a tent. Armstrong was identified as that man and arrested.
The girl also told dectectives she had told Armstrong she was 19 years old.
He was previous convicted of sexual assault in 2009 and was ordered to register. Court papers indicate he had sex with a 14-year-old girl at a party in Coppell.
Police said they are not seriously concerned about safety at the Occupy Dallas encampment." |

I'd love to see your source for this. The story you posted is one instance, where the girl lied and said she was 19.
Regardless, it's not any surprise that a microcosm of society would have the same criminal issues as society at-large.11/2/2011 10:23:00 AM |

I really don't see the causal relationship between one asshole raping a girl and the issues that the Occupy protests are trying to address. I'm pretty sure there's someone out there who both doesn't support the Occupy protests and has raped someone.
Also, this pack_bryan guy is either dumber than a box of rocks or an incredibly successful troll. 11/2/2011 10:54:39 AM |

^^there are actually a ton of similar stories, and its becoming well known (to people who read the news) that the camps are clamping down to stop the flow of bad news from the groups. Rapes and sexual assaults lead to nothing more than people chasing the perp out of the camp while shouting that he's a pervert.
They don't want the cops in the camps to arrest anyone since that leads to more bad press. Supposedly they deal with it internally, but who knows what that amounts to
I can find some stories later when I'm not taking a shit on the toilet...since I have to work and all.

OWS is fake. The protesters are all actors hired by our government. Why you ask? Simple... to distract us from the systematic practice of the U.S. hunting down and murdering "terrorists". The sickest part is that Bin Laden and al-awleki never actually existed... Their images have been fed to us over the years, but they are fictional characters. 11/2/2011 11:28:18 AM |

If we could replace the word "person" with "natural person" in the 14th Amendment, we could get a lot of money and corruption out of our government.

I found this article in my hunt which more or less catalogs and links all of the big rapes and sexual assaults: - http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=47257
I've put excerpts of some other stories below.
Quote : | ""Occupy" Crime Wave Continues: Woman Raped, Robbed in Baltimore
Efforts by the Occupy Baltimore protest group to evolve into a self-contained, self-governing community have erupted into controversy with the distribution of a pamphlet that victim advocates and health workers fear discourages victims of sexual assaults from contacting police.
The pamphlet says that members of the protest group who believe they are victims or who suspect sexual abuse "are encouraged to immediately report the incident to the Security Committee," which will investigate and "supply the abuser with counseling resources."
[The actual quote, in part: "Though we do not encourage the involvement of the police in our community, the survivor has every right, and the support of Occupy Baltimore, to report the abuse to the appropriate authorities."]
...
Baltimore is hardly the only hotbed for rapists. It's out of control in New York, where even a deaf man was reportedly raped.
...
To their credit, the New York Post has been one of the few "mainstream" outlets reporting on the ugliness in Zuccotti Park. Again, however, "organizers" are handling the rape epidemic internally.
“Pervert! Pervert! Get the f--k out!” said vigilante Occupiers, who never bothered to call the cops.
“They were shining flashlights in his face and yelling at him to leave,” said a woman who called herself Leslie, but refused to give her real name.
She said that weeks earlier another woman was raped.
[u]“We don’t tell anyone,” she said. “We handle it internally. I said too much already.”" |
Quote : | "CLEVELAND, Ohio (CBS Cleveland) – An “Occupy Cleveland” protester tells police she was raped in her tent over the weekend.
According to police reports, the 19-year-old student was instructed by “Occupy Cleveland” personnel to “share a tent with the suspect due to a shortage of tents.” The suspect identified himself as “Leland” to the woman. The woman told police that after she had thought the suspect went to sleep in his own bed, she slept in a sleeping bag provided to her by the rally." |
Quote : | "MANCHESTER - A city woman is accused of pimping a 16-year-old girl she met in Victory Park during the Occupy NH demonstrations.
Justina Jensen, 23, of 341 Hanover St., is charged with felony prostitution. Police allege Jensen met a teen at the local protest, which is an offshoot of Occupy Wall Street, and used the Internet to arrange a first liaison for the girl with a man who turned out to be an undercover police officer." |
Quote : | "A man is arrested at Occupy Toronto after allegedly smelling a woman's feet and trying to get other protesters to drink urine.
The Protester who uploaded this video also left this comment on it claiming his girlfriend was groped by this man as well:
"He was also groping her? but I failed to mention due to being a bit emotionally tied up. Evidently the cop and I cleared it up wish I could have reacted perfectly. If I didn`t get this evidence I feel those who were still in the tent would have discovered it."" |
And it keeps going, honestly.

Quote : | "I think that's half the point of this is to get money flowing through the economy again... not just stock piled in some ones investments somewhere. " |
That's just the thing though. Corporations are wary to spend their money because they don't know what the government is going to do next. I work for a small business that currently gets most of its money in the form of contracts from larger corporations for R&D and manufacturing of nanotechnology. Companies love our technology, but most from what I gather are extremely wary of investing anything because of the uncertainty in the government.
Here's something from an article I posted in soap box:
Quote : | "However, by 1936 Roosevelt needed yet more revenue and had apparently grown to relish his new class warfare and railing against “organized money.” So he proposed another business tax: an undistributed profits tax.
Like Obama, FDR faced what he saw as a big problem: Businesses had a lot of cash on hand but weren’t spending it. “Regime uncertainty,” the reluctance of business to hire and invest when faced with a growing onslaught of new taxes and regulations, suppressed capital spending. No one knew what the future held so businesses held on to their cash hoping to survive. Again, sound familiar?
Roosevelt believed that forcing businesses to spend that money would create jobs. So he proposed, and got, his undistributed profits tax. If the government were going to tax idle money anyway, maybe businesses would put it to work.
The irony, of course, is that the more FDR dreamed up new taxes and regulations to get the economy moving, the more regime uncertainty he created. And those efforts had a predictable effect: the economy began to turn south in 1937, resulting in the Roosevelt recession. " |
