Saw this on twitter.

Quote :
"Marcus Lattimore suffered a Broken Femur, Broken Patella, Torn ACL, Torn MCL, Torn PCL, and Torn LCL"

Haven't seen an actual report from South Carolina though.

^^^If that's true then his career is likely over, right? I mean, damn...how do you recover from something like that and be anywhere near what you were before? A broken FEMUR? Really?!

Did Oklahoma get screwed on that holding call in the endzone? It was late and I don't think they got the player's # right, but it still looked like a hold.

It was a hold, but the head ref called it from behind the play and they never showed the flag until he was putting it back in his pocket. He apparently announced the hold, but his mic didn't work. Stoops was just pissed about the delay in calling it and then not hearing the announcement.

4th Maryland Quarterback Caleb Rowe tore his ACL against Boston College. Wonder if Edsall will be holding open tryouts or switch to a Wildcat only offense.

Can he be re-redshirted after playing in the middle of the season? Is it a certain number of games you can play in or is it you can only play in the first few games?

What I saw is that he could be reshirted next season and play in 2014. He's a junior and hasn't used a redshirt.

My mistake. I'm not sure of the rule in that case. I know there's the less than half the games rule in bball because we were able to redshirt Vandenberg last season. Football is usually more strict as in Gentry last year.

So what was the final outcome on the damage to Lattimore's knee? I still have not seen/heard the official report.

Also I actually feel bad for Edsall with all of the QB injuries. Unreal. I don't feel bad for Maryland as that is a shit state and their fans are complete ass clowns.

Fucking stupid-ass Gamecock fans blowing up my facebook page saying the hit on Lattimore was intentional.

I hate Gamecock/Clemson fans. Worst thing about living in SC.

Quote :
"COLUMBIA, S.C. -- South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore hyperextended his right knee against Tennessee, causing injury to several ligaments, the school said in a release Sunday.

Coach Steve Spurrier said the injury is something Lattimore can come back from to play football again.

There were no fractures or additional injuries, according to team physician Jeffrey Guy.

Spurrier visited Lattimore on Sunday and said the junior had a good attitude about his condition. Spurrier said Guy was able to put Lattimore's knee back in place soon after he was taken from the field to the hospital.

Spurrier said the injury was significant, but discounted speculation Lattimore never would play football again. Lattimore has not used a redshirt season so he could take as long as necessary to recover and still return to the Gamecocks for the 2014 season.

"We're optimistic his football days are ahead of him," Spurrier said.

Lattimore is resting comfortably and will be evaluated over the week, according to the school. "

Quote :
"2 Universities Bar Athletes From Using Hundreds of Words on Twitter
August 20, 2012, 2:55 pm

By Brad Wolverton
Many colleges monitor athletes’ social-media postings, and some of them even bar players from using certain words, according to today’s Louisville Courier-Journal.

The University of Louisville flags 406 words or slang expressions that have to do with drugs, sex, or alcohol. The University of Kentucky flags a similar number, of which 370 are sports agents’ names.

The words range from the seemingly innocuous “pony”—a euphemism for crack cocaine—and “panties,” to all manner of alcoholic drinks and sexual expressions.

Software used by the universities sends an e-mail alert to coaches whenever athletes use a word that could embarrass the student or the university, or tarnish their images.

Here are some of the words the universities block:

Kentucky:

Agent
Alcohol
Benjamins
Cheat sheet
Doobie
Fight
Gay
KKK
Murder
Nazi
Payoff
Porn
Rape
Robbery
White power

Louisville:

Beer bong
BYOB
Drugs
Drunk driving
Gazongas
GNOC
Harry buffalo
Jeremiah Weed
Meister Brau
Mr. Brownstone
Sam Adams
Whippets
Zoomies

Kentucky also flagged “Muslim” and “Arab.” But after being questioned about it by the Courier-Journal, the university said it would no longer do so."

Wtf is up with Louisville's list? Kentucky's actually makes sense (even if the concept is stupid) but Louisville's looks like it was cobbled together by some preschoolers.

I mean. Ok, so drug code names are stupid but gozangas? And what if an athlete is a huge GNR fan?

[Edited on November 2, 2012 at 5:42 PM. Reason : I guess I'm just too old for drug language.]
