haha getting a lot of stick for that comment. Fair enough I suppose. So anyone that likes soccer want to watch the match at London Bridge?

Didn't see an FA cup thread. Potentially Chelsea vs United at Old Trafford. Should be fun. Chelsea only have the FA cup to play for now so could be a tough one if United manage to beat Reading.

Suarez has been on fire lately. He seems to have cut the antics out of his game. Was pleased to see the classy manner in which he won the penalty against Swansea today.

But is Rooney racist? Does he avoid pre-match handshakes?

When's the last time Roon-dogg bit an opponent, punched a ball into the goal, or crushed the hopes of an entire continent in the world cup by cheating?

Yeah, I mean, I was just trying to give Suarez some credit. It doesn't surprise me that he still does douchey stuff.

lol cheating? he broke the rules, was punished, and the other team couldnt capitalize. its so dumb to call what he did in the World Cup "cheating."

the handball for liverpool, maybe, but only b/c he got away with it

did the ravens cheat to win the super bowl? on that last play when they took a safety, the linemen were told to hold b/c the penalty for holding in the endzone what have only been a safety. bunch of cheaters.

I don't really hold the World Cup thing against him. Combined with his entire body of work though, it looks pretty bad. I would think any player would handle that ball off the line, really.

It was a deserved result as Chelsea didn't play well at all

Plus side is that 3rd is there for the taking tomorrow. Spurs gotta have those 3 anyway with this run of matches the next couple of weeks. Gooners and Pool in the league will be tough along with Inter sandwiched in there.

All of those teams are awful right now, so spurs should be fine

Arsenal has a far easier schedule coming in than Spurs from what I can see.

Even a point next week is great. Sad that as inconsistent as Arsenal has been they still can finish third quite easily.

I'd probably remove the "quite easily" off that, but it is possible

Is arsenal not playing fairly well, champions league aside? Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing Chelsea miss out on CL next season despite the NL rivalry. Chelsea as a club are simply detestable and missing out on CL could see them fall apart.

Unless Bale continues this ridiculous form its time for the annual Spurs implosion. Arsenal were 12 points behind around this time last year before Tottenham imploded. It was the 5-2 North London derby that started it all.

Chelsea and Stoke are really the only two teams in the league I can't stand.

I think everybody on this board hates Chelsea.

^^^^

That was a different team and a different year. Spurs were considered by many to be title contenders at this point last season, so the pressure on them was much greater. Then the whole Redknapp-England saga began and became a giant distraction. Not to mention the late season fatigue created by Redknapp playing the same starting 11 the entire season. He is just a shitty person in general and I'm not surprised to see him fail at QPR despite the vast resources available to him. Throw in Modric starting his bitchy little tantrum and it's pretty easy to see why they crumbled.

AVB is a much different manager and I have complete confidence that he is capable of bringing a high degree of success to the club. Spurs need Bale to keep performing, but it's a very different team than last season.

^ I agree but look at their fixtures. Arsenal/Inter/Liverpool. That's going to drain them. I still have my doubts about the Spurs actually being top 4 contenders. Seeing how hapless Chelsea are on the road its very feasible that they don't qualify either and Spurs finish 3rd. Spurs are in a good spot but the fixtures are getting congested and nothing is easy at this point. They still have a few tough match's left. Also I don't know how they will be able to handle the pressure if they end up losing the derby next weekend.

We've finished 4th, 5th, 4th the last 3 years and currently sit 4th with an opp for 3rd today with 11 matches left but you still doubt that we're top 4 contenders?

I agree that 2 week stretch will be tough, but thinking it will put Spurs in some kind of tailspin is just wishful thinking.

We'll get 4 out of those league matches and Inter's talent is down this year so it is definitely realistic that we move through that matchup.

sidenote: AVB has a chance to overtake Chelsea today after 27 matches, which is exactly the number of matches he was given as Chelsea manager.

I don't expect Spurs to collapse. They are a good side. I just think that Chelsea and Arsenal are deeper and the rest of the season will be a grind. It still wouldn't be a shock for them to finish fourth or even third.

And I wouldn't worry about Inter if I'm AVB. All about fourth place in the league.

Oh I believe they are completely focused on that 4th place goal with the Europa being icing on the cake.

You get the feel AVB is trying to "prep" this squad for CL football next year through implied pressure of the Europa, but there is nothing lost if we go out to Inter.

To a team with a great present! Look I've explained it on here before. Find it if you want but I don't care enough to restate it.

It took me 5-6 years of watching the EPL before I stuck with Spurs. At this point, if they got relegated, I would still follow them. But when I was a more casual fan, that probably would have been enough to drop them because if your team isn't playing in the top flight it gets significantly more difficult to follow them. The only thing I fault NyM for is choosing the Gooners. But at least it's not Chelsea.

And Arsenal are not really that deep. Maybe in midfield, but if anyone of their defenders goes down and Djourou has to play at all, they're in trouble. Chelsea are just all out of sorts right now.

Ridiculous form right now.

One man team but when the one is the top player or two in the world at his position that doesn't much matter.

I missed about 82 minutes of that game because I had class, but that last goal was so worth it. I'm not really one to shout when my team scores a goal but I definitely did when i saw that shot fly into the back of the net. Unstoppable.

If I was trolling I would say that if he was really the best player in the world at his position he probably wouldn't start against his team biggest local rival a la Tony Valencia.

One of the best matches I have watched all season. I jumped up and yelled at the top of my lungs when it went in.

What a player. WHAT. A. PLAYER.

HE SCORES WHEN HE WANTS! HE SCORES WHEN HE WAAAAAANNNNTTTTTSS! BALE BALE BALE!

That damn keeper for Ham played the match of his life too

I don't think he'll leave either. He's clearly enjoying himself and it's showing in how well he's playing. £80m is his theoretical value.
