So is that link from 10 days ago about having the votes to unbind delegates done? I don't really know how these things work, but I haven't heard anything about it.

Manafort, July 19: There’s no cribbing of Michelle Obama’s speech. These were common words and values. She cares about her family. Things like that. I mean, she was speaking in front of 35 million people last night. She knew that. To think that she would be cribbing Michelle Obama’s words is crazy."

Given how adamant they were that there was no plagiarism, it was all ginned up media bullshit, etc., you'd think they would leave out the part where she confessed yesterday. Particularly since the campaigning was still in denial this morning.

Yeah, it's not going to go anywhere probably, but I don't think it's "for show". it's pretty common for comments like that to get investigated, which I guess makes it a little noteworthy for a speaker at the GOP convention to make them.

And we do live in a time where domestic terrorist groups are at a peak, so it's not unreasonable to think someone saying this so prominently is a danger.

^^ Not to mention that Trump's campaign and surrogates have history threatening people.

Quote :
"Former New York gubernatorial candidate and Donald Trump backer Carl Paladino doubled down Friday on a threatening email he sent to an anti-Trump delegate last week, saying she should not get her "underwear ... all bunched up" about it.

Paladino sent an email to Utah delegate Stefani Williams telling her she should be "hung for treason" last week, according to a copy forwarded by Williams to CNN and first posted on Renew America. The email came after Williams posted an open letter on the conservative grassroots advocacy group's website calling on delegates to "dump Trump."

"You should be hung for treason Stefani. There will not be a Republican Party if you attempt to replace Trump. I'll be in your face in Cleveland," the email said.

[...]

Reached by CNN to comment on the email to Williams, Paladino stood behind his original note -- calling the threat of hanging and being "in your face" a "colloquialism."

"What the person was proposing is to encourage violation of the rules of the Republican Party under which Donald Trump rose legally to be the presumptive candidate," Paladino emailed CNN. "The person is being treacherous to the party in doing so and as such the colloquialism is appropriate -- and if the person's underwear is all bunched up over his or her sensitivity to my reaction, then tell the person if he or she can't take the heat of what he or she dished out, then get out of the kitchen."

The Trump campaign had no comment on Paladino's words.

It's not the first time the brash businessman has stepped into controversy. Earlier this month, an ill-formed tweet from Paladino's staff, which was deleted, looked like it was calling for the lynching of Attorney General Loretta Lynch. During Paladino's gubernatorial bid in 2010, he also faced scrutiny for explicit and racist emails he apparently sent to friends."

Quote :
"A Utah woman says she was threatened by Donald Trump supporters after a floor fight over the rules at the Republican National Convention.

"They said: 'You should die. They should pull the protection from the Utah delegation. You should all die,'?" at-large delegate Kera Birkeland said Monday night.

Birkeland said she went to the restroom after a group of delegates, including many from Utah, attempted to force a roll call vote to block the rules, part of an attempt to deny Trump the presidential nomination.

Two pro-Trump women, Birkeland said, told her the Utah delegation was horrible and stupid."

These people are trying to incite violence, plain and simple. They know they can't beat Hillary, just like they knew they couldn't beat Obama. Nor can they actually put them in jail or kill them. They figure if they work enough people up into a frothing rage, one of them might just be crazy enough to pull the trigger for them.

There is no real need for the news to say that though. Mentioning how there are no black people in one photo at the RNC is just a smear campaign by the liberal press. They should do the same when they find a photo of only white people at an event for democrats too.

LOL, Trump scared away more black people from the GOP than even Romney.

Asians are anti Republican this election more than any other election-- and they've been the most conservative minority group.

It's not a myth or misrepresentation that the GOP is a whites-preferred political party, especially under Trump's twitter dalliances with neo nazi and kkk groups.

let's be perfectly honest here though; the Democratic party ringmasters are a whites-preferred party as well, lauding about the trinkets they throw out to minorities while shitting all over top of them with policy. For every David Duke out there, there's a Robert Byrd.

this seems like a level of self-awareness I would not attribute to Drumpf.

^I'd write that article off as Kasich being a whiny piece of shit that would say anything to knock Trump after the brutal primary. He couldn't even be bothered to come to the RNC after his cronies forced that ridiculous pledge on all the candidates. If something like that was coming out of the Scott Walker or Rick Scott camps, it might carry some weight.

I could see Trump stepping down after one term if elected, which would put any VP pick in an ideal position.

When asked about Erdogan in Turkey, who arrested and fired 50,000+ people, including all teachers, and has banned travel for professors, Trump had this to say, today, July 20 2016:
Quote :
" "Mr. Trump had nothing but praise for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the country’s increasingly authoritarian but democratically elected leader. “I give great credit to him for being able to turn that around,” Mr. Trump said of the coup attempt on Friday night. “Some people say that it was staged, you know that,” he said. “I don’t think so.”"

If we're really being honest, you'd have to admit saying there's a Robert Byrd for every David Duke is an absurd statement. Democrats, especially on the state level, are just as racist as republicans, this is probably true. But the fact there's even breathing room in the party for people like Bernie and Hillary to thrive is a night/day difference compared to the GOP. Saying #blacklivesmatter is a death sentence as a republican.

Democrats are about corperate, systemic racism and small bandaids to "fight it" while Republicans are about pretending racism doesn't exist. Not sure which is worse.

Yeah, the one ABC was making a big deal out of was interns. It featured white people and a few Asians. So what? Who cares? I'm guessing you could go to an NAACP Convention and find a photo of only black people. Does that make them racist?

Pointing out the GOP under Trump has historically bad support of blacks, and is itself not supporting blacks, is not a smear campaign. It is a fundamental truth of the Republican platform, that is indicative of anachronistic DNA of the party itself.

You can be "conservative" and not racist, TGD has proven this well.

I'm not sure how he can talk about dissolving the separation of church and state in the same speech where he talks about upholding the constitution and laws?

Also, who thinks mining for coal is a good idea anymore? This is the dumbest things a presidential candidate could say as energy police in 2016.
