That is just, well ...... wrong. The only "battleground" states where he's currently leading are Iowa and Ohio, and of those two really only Iowa looks completely gone. He also needs to win Florida, Nevada and North Carolina, where he's currently behind.

Then, he needs to win a state like Colorado, which Hillary has never trailed in. Or Pennsylvania, where Hillary has never trailed in. Or Wisconsin, where Hillary has never trailed in. Or New Hampshire, where Hillary has never trailed. Or ..... well you get the point.

Anyway, I was somewhat ridiculed earlier for pointing out that 538 was behaving more like a snapshot poll aggregator than an accurate predictor of the state of the race. Someone care to defend their current outlier status without referring to historical performance?

Hell, I'll defend him. The only way you could give Trump >30% chance of winning this election is by pricing in the possibility of massive polling error in multiple states, which is what I guess 538 doing.

538 is factoring the relative closeness of the state races, many within the margin of errors, and this is creating the wider uncertainty in their prediction.

Pointing out "trump has never been up" doesn't really matter if he has the momentum and the race is polling very closely. You also need to factor on this isn't a normal election. And, the current swing towards trump is largely from Gary Johnson voters coming back to the he GOP-- the Johnson vote was more than enough to eclipse Clinton.

By Election Day it doesn't seem likely trump can break through the Colorado firewall, and none of the other states have the mementum currently where trump should win, but I'm inclined to believe their model that the race is very close.

what? 10 minutes? seriuosly? you have to leave work, drive to a polling station, sometimes fight traffic to find a parking space, wait in line, fill out the form, get back to your car, out of the parking lot and drive back to work. It took me over 2 hours yesterday to do this. I had to use vacation time and didn't have time to eat lunch. Fortunately I have a car, it'sd probably take much longer if i had to rely on public transportation.

I fully support having a holiday to go vote. But then you get into this thing where if someone wants to early vote, then you need to provide a floating holiday, etc. But I've always wondered why we didn't get paid time off to vote.

And 10 minutes is a joke. Like someone said, to responsibly fill out one of those ballots, it takes 10 minutes just to do that. Not even factoring in driving/walking/riding to the polling center, parking, standing in line. At the very least I bet it takes the average worker 45 minutes to vote from end to end.

voting is the best way to learn about the country. It engages you to pay attention to what you voted for.
