i held my mother's hand all morning before work while we watched the history channel. she was crying. I wasn't really close to him (he was like my second uncle or something) but she knew him pretty well and he was in the first tower that fell.

it was a pretty traumatic thing for me she never cries. ever. and that footage was horrifying. i was pretty young when it happened. they didn't really let us watch any of the coverage while it was actually happening. idk this whole day has felt kind of surreal and seeing that kinda just set me off.

So I go to this symphony with several speakers at Duke right. And one of the speakers is the head chaplain for the Muslim community and the other is the head chaplain for the Duke Chapel.


In the end I realize that the Muslim chaplain was describing more of the virtues of Christianity. While the priest was speaking of apostasy and ecumenicism. But then I also noticed that no one could recognize this and could only direct their contempt towards the Muslim chaplain. Twas a sad day.
