See the Gus Gilchrist fiasco as proof that us going after the Maryland recruits is a pipe dream. Kid committed to Maryland then got released out of his LOI, committed to VT, but was told by the ACC that he'd have to sit out a year. He ended up going to South Florida instead.

i think you have that backwards. he backed out of a LOI to vpi and went to maryland. maryland, as typical under gary, had no idea how recruiting works and the acc rules were going to screw the kid over so he went to south florida to play earlier

also south florida gave his handler a job while maryland promised to do that but never actually did

Yeah I got it backwards. Thanks for correcting me. Very rarely do you see players going from one school to another school within a conference unless they go the JuCo route like Cam Newton and Brent Schaeffer.
