There was no pf raise, so there are a lot of hands I'd be ahead of on the flop. The bet, raise gets all your chips in, so if this was my read it accomplishes getting all my chips in the pot. The shove has fold equity though. Plus, the blinds are going to be 100/200 soon. A pf shove could win almost half my stack without a fight. I'm going to have to make a move at some point.

Where are the best poker rooms in Vegas? I've only played at the Pink Flamingo before but I'm going again soon and staying in Caesar's Palace.

Hoping to play somewhere with a big poker room and enough 1/2 or 2/4 NL tables. I can't hang with the big money stakes at this point.

I'm stuck between Caesars and Venetian as my favorite. Caesars offers 1/3, Venetian offers 1/2. They both have 2/4limit and 2/5nl.

Planet Hollywood or whatever it is now doesn't have a great poker room, but the action there was really soft. They have 1/2nl and 2/4 limit along with some $25-50 buy in tournaments.

Good to know. Are tournaments a good thing to do or do most people just play cash and sit/get up whenever they feel like it?

I agree, Planet Hollywood is soft.

If you are looking for a nice poker room I'd go play the 2-5 game at Bellagio but I preferred the 2-4 game at Mandalay Bay.

Hey David-

Not trying to start any beef, just trying to be more business minded. First of all, Im not good at poker, just a simple hobby for me.

But - you post all of these hand histories, play for countless hours each week, and FAIL to be a break even player. Before FTP stopped allowing the OPR to calculate $$$ per player you were also down on that site as well.

So where are you generating all of this money from...here is where my confusion comes from.

I assume you are playing cash games...so why not just concentrate fully on those instead of blowing all your $$$ on tourneys that you are obviously -EV with?

^^^MTT's can be a huge drain on your bankroll

I was up about $750 off an initial $50 buy in about 2 years ago crushing the 9 to 45 player SNG's on FT, and I've proceeded to lose it all back and then some playing MTT's. The variance can be nasty, and some people are just incredibly unlucky, myself being one of those. I just can't seem to make any big scores without getting sucked out on. I consistently get my chips in with the best hands, and consistently get taken out by the one idiot who's having the run of his life.

I've had a few 1k swings playing low-mid stakes MTTs. I have no doubt that David could have much larger sw0ngs playing the big Sunday MTTs. Thats the pain w/ MTTs...however...the one time David goes deep in the Million...your prolly gonna be begging him for money

I'm the opposite...

All I play is tournaments. Tournaments and cash games are two different styles of play. I have about a 20% roi in online and live tournaments and S&G the last 3 years but am a break even player if not in the negative in cash games. The large cashes draw people to tourneys and all it takes is one or two to make your roi high. I haven't played a NL cash game online in over a year and all I play online now are S&G's and tournaments. That's where I've always made my $

Anyone interested in a 180man SNG prop bet on Stars? Figured i'd post it on here before 2p2 b/c I thought it might be cool to do it w/ someone on here.

I was thinking either a set amount max profit/ROI type bet (maybe 100, 250, 500 of them) for some set amount of cash $ as incentive.

Takers?

^dude how do you have the money to drop $500-$800 a week on playing all the big Sunday FTP tourneys?

did you win one on Pokerstars and transfer money over to FTP or do you just make a ton of money at your dayjob?

^^all you said was "obv I'm doing well on my other sites or I couldn't afford to keep playing."

what are these "other" sites you speak of? I looked you up on OPR (before they took FTP off) and you were about a -50%ROI player on FTP and someone else said you were down $46K on PokerStars.

I'm not trying to bust your chops, I'm just asking if you've had any big cashes that you're still rolling off of

I would like to see something besides all in. Show me a bluff or some value betting or a good fold. Is all in your only move? If so I would think you would be better served in the super turbo tournies.

i, too, mostly lurk this thread now, and wish david would post more regarding his thought process around hands as opposed to just dumping hand histories that all play themselves out pretty much mechanically.

If yall want to take poker more seriously, then move to Pocketfives.com and 2+2

Both of these forums have the best players in the world talking hands.

i fail to see how either of the 77 hands were interesting or insightful.

idk.

^surely you're joking if you dont think we both knew that already.

I've had a 2+2 account for going on 7 years.

This thread used to have relavent discussion a few years ago and it'd be nice to get back to that. I've pretty much not played at all in the past two years, and kinda have been contemplating getitng back into the swing.

However, it was nice to have a much smaller forum of players i knew personally or had some other connection to other than just both posting on a megaforum like 2+2 or the nutriding associated with p5s and 2p2.

I wanted to open up a discussion of whether I should have pushed or not.

i dont see how folding there would ever be profitable, nor do i see how there's any play to be made there other than pushing.

you can't float/instapush there, you dont have the chips

it's actually a good thing that you have no fold equity, the raising range against a shorty there is huge and against that range 77 holds up quite nicely.

The equity lost in folding would be large.

what was the deal with the shennanigans at ub?

i got an email recently reminding me that i had a few hundo in one of my ub accounts i had forgotten about

for low ring games, would you still play there, or try and push somewhere else?

Seems to be cleared up afaik...however I haven't and will not ever put money on that site.

Word on the skreet is that Cake poker is the new shit for cash...haven't tried it yet...but might be giving it a go soon.
