My 401K's "aggressive fund" was too conservative, so I looked to see where the aggressive fund allocates it's money and just bought all the individual funds through my 401K, except I replaced bonds with something else.

GOOG & BIDU trade between 8x and 12x of the most recent quarter's annualized sales.

Perfect World's IPO price would make it only 4x its most recent recent quarter's annualized sales.

Assuming the open market price (the price where you and I can even touch the stock) is double the $12 to 14 price, i wonder if it still has another 50% upside on the day of the IPO.

maybe a bit of a bounce back tomorrow - maybe not to previous highs but not another drop like today?
just looking at a few prices in after hours, seems like a bunch of buying...

but then again, im retarded...

sold half of my AAPL yesterday.

JOYG is giving it to me dry.

i don't suppose anyone owned AMZN ? i wonder if people overlooked it because Bezos looks and sounds like the kid in grade school that everyone picked on.

My aunt was telling me Monday that she had bought some Amazon options and was awaiting their announcement. Looks like she made it to step 3.

AMZN: up 115% since the start of 2007.
Who would have seen that coming?

ETV http://www.eatonvance.com/mutual_funds/fund_info_closed.asp?fund=ETV&h=3
and ETW http://www.eatonvance.com/mutual_funds/fund_info_closed.asp?fund=ETW&h=3
are two solid dividend paying ETFs that are approaching 52 week lows. Market value is dropping at a much higher rate than liquidization value so I would expect a rebound before too much longer.

I'd buy more if I weren't already so heavy on it.

glad i only sold half my AAPL.

i will likely take PWRD for a ride tomorrow.

still anxiously awaiting word on the VMWare IPO.

btw, the BIDU winnings will only help offset the beatings i took on names like JOYG and KMT in recent days.

agressive mutual fund:
CGMFX (one i currently like)
or you can search morningstar.com

aggressive index funds:
VTI (total us market)
VWO (emerging markets)
EFA (developed ex us markets)
obviously the aggressive measure is determined by the amount you allocate to vwo & efa

How far do you guys see this thing going?
I only have a certain amount of money I can throw into it. Trying to decide how I want to split it up between this and VMWare. Suggestions?

you risked almost $15 grand for less than a $500 gain? wow. must be nice to have play money

I wouldn't say risked it. I doubt that the stock would have hit $0 today.

I do it all the time just based on the charts. Usually buying options, but PWRD doesn't have them yet.

i left under $600 sitting in it -- which is house money. other than that it doesn't look too exciting. i was expecting it to move a lot more. need to work the day job the rest of the work day.

i guess it was a good trial run/anxiety conditioning for the VMWare IPO.
