HOW MANY SEC STUDENTS DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE A LIGHT BULB?
At VANDERBILT: it takes two, one to change the bulb and one more to explain how they did it every bit as good as the bulbs changed at Harvard.
At GEORGIA: it takes two, one to change the bulb and one to phone an engineer at Georgia Tech for instructions.
At FLORIDA: it takes four, one to screw in the bulb and three to figure out how to get stoned off the old one.
At ALABAMA: it takes five, one to change it, three to reminisce about how The Bear would have done it, and one to throw the old bulb at an NCAA investigator.
At OLE MISS: it takes six, one to change it, two to mix the drinks and three to find the perfect J. Crew outfit to wear for the occasion.
At LSU: it takes seven, and each one gets credit for five Semester hours.
At KENTUCKY: it takes eight, one to screw it in and seven to discuss how much brighter it seems to shine during basketball season.
At TENNESSEE: it takes ten, two to figure out how to screw it in, two to buy an orange lampshade, and six to phone a radio call-in show and talk about ow much they hate Alabama.
At MISSISSIPPI STATE: it takes fifteen, one to screw in the bulb, two to buy the Skoal, and twelve to yell, "GO TO HELL, OLE MISS".
At AUBURN: it takes one hundred, one to change it, forty-nine to talk about how they did it better than at Bama, and fifty to get drunk and roll Toomer's Corner when finished.
At SOUTH CAROLINA: it takes 80,000, one to screw it in and 79,999 to discuss how this finally will be the year that they have a decent football team.
At ARKANSAS: None. There is no electricity in Arkansas

hahahahahahaha
ha
a quick google search revealed this, eerily similar (may or may not be as funny):
* At Duke it takes two - One to change the light bulb, and one to write a study showing how they did it every bit as well as those Ivy League schools. * At Carolina it takes three - one to change the bulb, and two to throw the old bulb at the Duke students. * At Wake Forest it only takes one. The other 5 students are all busy doing other stuff. * At North Carolina State it takes nine - three to demand that the bulb be fired even though it's still working, five to track incoming flights containing possible replacement bulbs, and one to change the bulb, * At Maryland, they don't change bulbs because they think that's something Duke does. * At Boston College, it takes one to change the bulb, and three to complain about how nobody in Boston cares. * At Florida State, nobody really knows, but everyone praises Bobby Bowden for getting it done. * At Miami, the students don't change light bulbs - the cubans do it while the students are down at south beach. * At Georgia Tech, it only takes one, and he’ll not only change the light bulb but will figure out how to power most of metro Atlanta in the process. * At Clemson, no one can confirm that they even have electricity. * At Virginia, it takes 3 - one to change the light bulb, one to fashion the old light bulb into a bong and the third to score some really good shit. * At Virginia Tech, it takes one - but only after football season is over.

That list sucks when compared to the SEC one. I think the SEC one is great just b/c of the delivery. The finale with mentioning that there is no electricity in Arkansas is the best part of the joke. 8/7/2008 2:18:58 PM |

Smith Listened, Learned From Redshirt Year
Jay Smith spent last season in an unfamiliar spot - on the sidelines. But a year of learning on the scout team has the redshirt freshman ready to make a difference for the Pack this season.
A four-star recruit out of Norfolk (VA) Lake Taylor High School, it would have been easy for Smith to take the wrong attitude towards the staff's decision to redshirt him. But Smith readily admits that he didn't have a good enough grasp of the offense at the beginning of the year and that sitting out was in his best interest.
“Everybody has their place their first year,” Smith said. “In my case I didn't understand the offense really well so sitting out last year and working with the scout team helped me out a lot as far as getting to know the offense.”
With a year on the scout team under his belt, the redshirt freshman is hoping to contribute this season. He certainly doesn't lack the physical tools to compete for playing time right away, as the 6-4, 200-pounder was one of the Pack's most highly-rated recruits in the 2007 class – spurning offers from Miami, Virginia Tech, Clemson and Tennessee to play in Raleigh.
But from the day he arrived in fall camp last year, he's been unwilling to rest on his physical tools. He listened – not just to his coaches but to the veteran receivers on the squad.
“We have a really deep receiving squad and we have a lot of experienced guys that the younger guys look up to,” Smith said. “Donald Bowens, Geron [James], Owen Spencer - those guys know what's going on and have all that experience at the collegiate level that we don't have. They help [the younger guys] out as far as learning how to read coverages, things like that. It really pays off to listen to them.”
The veterans on the team have a grasp of the lineage of great players that have played wide receiver for the Wolfpack over the last decade. They can turn the TV on every Sunday and catch Torry Holt making plays, or Jerricho Cotchery, or Koren Robinson. The work ethic of guys like John Dunlap and Brian Clark remains ingrained in the minds of those players.
According to Smith they bring that work ethic to practice every day and its something the younger guys notice.
“We look at how hard those guys work, and we try to come out and work just as hard,” Smith said. “We just try to keep up with the pace – they usually come out here and set the pace for the younger guys and we just try to follow that and hope we get better.”
Keeping up with the older players translated into his summer and spring workouts as well, where he tried to improve at every aspect of his game.
“You need all of it in order to be successful in a game,” Smith said. “I just tried to do all those things – hands, speed, routes – just trying to put it all together and be a better wide receiver.”
With fall camp in full swing now, Smith knows exactly what his goals are between now and opening night at Columbia. And, not surprising, learning was still at the top of his list.
“Just trying to learn and figure out our responsibilities and just be productive on the field for this team,” Smith said. 8/8/2008 12:04:42 AM |

Anyone else expecting Jay Smith to be huge down the road? Maybe not this year, but this kid was a VERY highly rated recruit (our top 2007 recruit) and he's been quiet ever since we snagged him. He's 6'4" and runs a 4.4 40. Here was his offer list (which as we all know, tells you more than anything usually):
Miami Clemson Notre Dame Tennessee Virginia Virginia Tech
I can't remember having such a big-time recruit and not hearing much about him....he's definitely going to surprise some people.
I think with him, Bowens, and Geron James we've got a WR corp with a lot of potential. 8/8/2008 10:19:09 AM |
