The Black Kids -- Partie Traumatic

This is only at 160 kbps, so, download knowing this -- as soon as I find a better copy, I'll put it up. I just know there are a lot of people (including me) that are REALLY looking forward to this record.

Oh my God, man. That was fucking amazing. I had cold chills from start to finish listening to Robin Pecknold belt out those songs.

They harmonized so perfectly live that it just floored me (while Robin was sick, I might ad). That was the best show I have seen at the Local 506 since Midlake last year, and I check out several shows there a year.

I would go as far as ranking it in my top 7 shows ever, and that's saying a whole hell of a lot.

Damn, it's awesome this many music thread'ers were out at Fleet Foxes. It was really packed in there, and probably the most packed I remember that place. (maybe Grizzly Bear was as bad? I can't recall).

I ended up having to squeeze in just in front of the sound booth in order to see them.

i hated that guy. (the doobie brothers guy). i also couldn't see being short ftl. i've also had a stomach virus and we ate pepper's pizza (maybe not the best food to eat coming off of the vomits) and right after the duke and the dutchess (or whoever...i didn't care for them) played i had to go outside local 506 around the corner of the chinese place behind a dumpster and throw up

SO THEN we had to stand in the back the whole time because by the time i was done with that everyone had crammed in the front. finally we squeezed in the middle and i could see, but then like a 7ft tall guy shifted in front of me. but it was still really really really amazing, and i got to see enough (obviously seeing isn't really the point, but watching them is just more fun than looking at the back of peoples heads. no offense, but your heads are not that interesting)

Agreed on both accounts. I've seen many great shows at the 506, but when it's a packed house like last night, it's a real pain in the ass.

^^
You must have been close to me, because that 7 foot tall dude was annoying, lol. Stand in the back, damnit.

^ No problem. I've never really used oink (had an account at one time), but I always seemed to find the leaks within an hour or two of them popping up on oink, so I didn't waste my time with ratios and whatnot.

If you want to go back to oink, you should see if any folks here have waffles or what.cd invites. Nothing is as good as the pink piggy was, but they're comparable.

I believe everything I've ever posted here I have found on the interwebs, uploaded by someone else.

I'm digging the new Beck.

the guitar tone on Profanity Prayers is sexy, it sounds kinda like Radiohead's Bodysnatchers tone

Fleet Foxes discography in chronological order of their release:

Fleet Foxes -- Sun Giant EP
hxxp://rapidshare.com/files/105875406/Fleet_Foxes_-_Sun_Giant_EP.rar.html

Fleet Foxes -- Ragged Wood/Self titled LP -- full length release June 2008

I also have the self-titled EP from 2006, so I'll probably have to upload that one myself.

it's a little tough for those of us who've had "wizard of ahhhs" for a while to get used to these new versions. some of them are honestly better on that i think. i really dig the new version of "listen to your body tonight" though.

random but not threadworthy even though it doesnt really fit here either. anyone else here that used to like Pedro the Lion a lot? I've been on a huge binge of one specific song "Slow and Steady Wins the Race"

1) I really love this song lyrically, and the guitar but
2) anyone who knows this song, have you ever thought it could pass for a kurt cobain song pretty damn easily? always seemed exactly like something he would write for some reason. even the vocals, though not gritty enough are reminiscent of cobain.

I think that's referred to as, scientifically speaking, the "Bowerbirds Effect".

But yeah, if anybody has a re-up for the Black Kids album, i'd appreciate it. Looks like the posted link is down.

black kids just seem like a lot of hype with not much substance (the next Tapes n Tapes or CYHSY)

plus the lead singer reminds me of hot hot heat
