Kainen,

You're right that the media is harping on her to quit, but what's new? The Hillary Death Watch has been counting down for over a month. I'm just looking at the numbers, and things there have not changed much.

Now, Hillary might drop out. But it wouldn't be because of what's happening in the primaries. You can say Hillary lost, but that doesn't mean Obama has won. Like I said, neither of them have a chance in hell of winning the nomination through primary victories alone. Hillary would drop out because a good chunk of the party elite are getting pissed at her for dragging the primary on and on while McCain has time to rake in cash. Folks like Howard Dean, Ted Kennedy, etc. And she will need friends like that on her side when she runs again.

That's party politics for you.

^^well if i say you said "The sky is blue" and you actually say "The sky is the color blue", you'll act like my statement was a completely different statement

hanging around those fucking lawyers too much

you know good and well that you were denying Bob Johnson's comments about a white freshman senator not getting 90% of the black vote...but because I'm not quoting you word for word, apparently you have some kind of great excuse that you never said anything of the sort

i argued for an entire page in a thread about your inability to differentiate two nearly identical questions which you chose to answer in two completely different ways

you cant even understand simple questions, so i dont think i need to waste my time trying to argue anything else with you

2 NEARLY identical questions like... Jesus Christ

It's pretty often that 2 nearly identical questions require 2 very different answers.

I know you can't understand that, but that isn't my fault.

They were asking pretty much the same thing, but one question was more absolute than the other, so I answered them differently. OK? get the fuck over it dude. That shit was like 2 weeks ago and you're still bitching about it.

Well gee socks, what do you expect - the system works in a totally different way, it's not winner takes all, and is also supported and tempered by super delegate counts. That's the rules, that's the democratic standard for electing a nominee.

You can quote all the fuzzy math you want but you're right about one thing - it hasn't changed....what hasn't changed is that he is going to be the nominee period. He needs 180 to hit the finish line and with 270 supers out there and 210 pledged delegate count...he will hit that and this will all be over. Any attempt to distort that is just pure spin, and all of you, the Clintons, everyone knows it- Which is they media doesn't buy it anymore.

Eventually you can't keep pushing back the goalposts back, as is they are out out of the stadium zipcode.

OBAMA
----------
Pledged (GP): 1589.5
Super: 255
Total: 1844.5
Need to Win: 180

CLINTON
------------
Pledged (GP): 1427.5
Super: 270.5
Total: 1698
Need to Win: 326.5

I wasn't wrong - you can't prove I was wrong, because they were 2 different questions. I don't give a fuck if they were asking the same thing, my answer to one was no, because it was absolute. My answer to the other was yes because it wasn't. Get it? Even if you did, you wouldn't admit it. As simple as this shit is.

TreeTwista,

Quit acting like a queen. terpball makes bad arguments, doesn't check his facts, and often puts his foot in his mouth (when Obama's dick ain't occupying it).

It doesn't matter what you say to him. I've had similar arguments with him before. You can write it in crystal-clear fucking english and he won't get it. Despite wasting my breath and giving him sources from the NYT, USA Today, and other publications he STILL believes there are more Blackwater body guards in Iraq than US combat troops.

He's nuts. Let it go.

This is one of the dumbest ideas put forth yet. I assure you one thing, if I start getting taxed on my health insurance I receive from my employer, I'm dropping it. Guess what, one more uninsured person in this country.

god dammit twister you said you weren't wasting your time anymore. SO STOP WASTING YOUR TIME

this thread is so muddy with irrelevant horse shit it's ridiculous. Take your apparent master's command (socks) and drop the shit.

I can't even keep up nor do I even want to try to post anything informative or opinionated with substance when crap like this peppers the thread. Even my 'forum opponents' on the other side of the aisle might agree with that.

nutsmacker,

For your benefit I have posted a concise explaination for why I think McCain's plan is better (from a progressive perspective) than Obama's or Clinton's in my thread on John McCain.

If you have any questions on why it is a good idea, please see that thread. If, after reading my most recent post, you are still not convinced, feel free to relay your comments.

I have 3 points or strikes against your mindless drone that need to be said:

- Not enough of an obama lovefest. This is a thread about 'Why do you support Obama?' I say why I support and talk about why others support him. What the shit do you expect me to talk about in here? The current market price of alaskan salmon?

- "censoring me" - I'm not asking you to censor your criticism. I'm asking you to refrain from slinging lunchroom peas at terpball and back. And for the record, those that support Obama (what you define as a cult) have certainly had our fucking fair share of everything and anything around the very definition of questioning Barack Obama. That's in strong supply in this thread and in soap box buddy. Damn near the entire thread is lit up with far more digs against his 'associaties' and gaffes than any responses that correctly answer socks original query.

- lastly, the ubuiqitous and last resort of frusrated counter opposing line of we're just a cult of worship sucking the dick of barack "the perfect" obama. You want to know what really sucks a dick? being degraded to some 'worshiper' like I or others hail from a pack of [wild volvo drivin' latte sipping + SF elites + angry black people + idiot college kid ditzes] demagogue that support Barack like he's a "god" Just because he is well liked and people are inspired by him doesn't give his detractors the right to smack everyone else down because they actually care and are motivated by a politician.

God knows it is so TERRIBLE to have a grassroots movement actually successful in this country with people that give a shit about something....even if you are against it and that is obvious, you can't come up with an intellectually honest argument or point - to go beyond that and hit the dismissal territory is the lowest denominator of debate. "You know, let's chalk it up to fanatics and let's label and insult his support as to nothing more than a cult." Got it captain. I'll learn my lesson twister... and be sure that next time I get excited hearing him speak I'll remind myself I need to temper it down because, hell, I totally worship him.

I frankly think this tact and attitude is pathetic.

Barack Obama has shown he cannot get the votes Democrats need to win – blue-collar, working class people. He can get effete snobs, he can get wealthy academics, he can get the young, and he can get the black vote, but Democrats do not win with that.

Hillary Clinton reaches a new low every day.

She has absolutely no shame

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-05-07-clintoninterview_N.htm

Quote :
"Hillary Rodham Clinton vowed Wednesday to continue her quest for the Democratic nomination, arguing she would be the stronger nominee because she appeals to a wider coalition of voters — including whites who have not supported Barack Obama in recent contests.
"I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on," she said in an interview with USA TODAY. As evidence, Clinton cited an Associated Press article "that found how Sen. Obama's support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me."

"There's a pattern emerging here," she said.

Clinton's blunt remarks about race came a day after primaries in Indiana and North Carolina dealt symbolic and mathematical blows to her White House ambitions. The Obama campaign, looking toward locking up the nomination, stepped up pressure on superdelegates who have the decisive votes in their race.

In both states, Clinton won six of 10 white voters, according to surveys of people as they left polling places.

FIND MORE STORIES IN: White House | North Carolina | Ohio | Indiana | Barack Obama | Capitol Hill | Bill Burton | Sen. Clinton | George McGovern | Larry Sabato | Sen. Obama | University of Virginia Center for Politics
Obama spokesman Bill Burton said that in Indiana, Obama split working-class voters with Clinton and won a higher percentage of white voters than in Ohio in March. He said Obama will be the strongest nominee because he appeals "to Americans from every background and all walks of life. These statements from Sen. Clinton are not true and frankly disappointing."

Clinton rejected any idea that her emphasis on white voters could be interpreted as racially divisive. "These are the people you have to win if you're a Democrat in sufficient numbers to actually win the election. Everybody knows that."
