this game only reinforces my hatred of both mexico as well as the us team's apparent 'put 45 people in the box and let the other team possess the ball the entire game except for when we randomly boot it down the field for 1 forward to beat 3 defenders' style of play.

Yeh we didn't do a good job at keeping the ball. We could have done worse though. Mexico is the toughest place to play in CONCACAF. There is a reason their record is 63-1-2 or whatever it is. It's pretty rare that USA, Mexico, or Costa Rica lose at home.

Was that the same ref from the Guatemala game last year. He has it in for the US, though we can't expect to get the calls. Hey we still have the Goal Differential on Mexico at 3-2 head to head. Our Midfield was terrible this game and the back line with the exception of Gooch weren't good either. We got totally outplayed in the 2nd half.

Is Costa Rica really going to win the CONCACAF or are will the US rebound and beat them in the States.

we were up 1-0 and then decided to sit back and let Blanco, Guardado, Torrado, anybody that had the fucking ball in the midfield do whatever they wanted with it... the possession in this game was like 80/20 Mexico

all the hype of Donovan before the game... and I'm pretty sure I'll be sticking with Landycakes for now (it was his assist on the goal, right? too bad it was the only thing he did all game) The only player who I thought did much of anything was Gooch. Ching is such a waste; people use the "he holds the ball up" excuse for him all the time and he can't even make a single trap.

The goal happened in spite of our shitty ass game plan.... sit back like bitches and let Mexico do whatever they want - the entire midfield was pitiful. Dempsey and Donovan were invisible, Clark was very bad, and that's the worst game I've ever seen Bradley play. I was actually ready to slam Bradley for bringing on Holden but he was surprisingly the best midfielder we had all game. I also have to wonder why Bradley doesn't rate Torres at all... the one bad game at CR is enough to kill off any future minutes? He's a possession midfielder with years of playing experience in Mexico...

^Yeh I wondered why Torres didn't get to play either since he has been playing in Mexico. I did like how Feilhaber came in off the bench and Dempsey was moved to forward. That had worked pretty well in the Confederations Cup, unfortunately it didn't this time. The problem was the defense played too deep which was a result of Mexico's speed and our midfield failed to hold onto the ball. Our goal was on a quick counter attack and not a slow build up with good midfield play.

Also, at 8:30 you will be able to watch the other CONCACAF Qualifiers.

Hopefully Costa Rica can beat Honduras to keep them down, otherwise they will tie us in points. The loss today sucks, but winning out at home and at T&T will make getting to the World Cup easy. Our next 2 games are vs El Salvador and @ T&T.

that was a horrible game. we played like shit and the refs were some of the worst i've seen. i haven't ever seen a guy grab a guys head while hes on the ground or grab a guys throat and not get a card. its just ridiculous. giovanni dos santos is getting up there as players i hate most, he dives like a bitch all the time.

whatever, bradley waited too long to make changes yet again, and going 100 percent defensive after we scored 1 goal was just stupid.

^I agree. We never even really got going. The goal was just the end result of a quick 2 pass counter attack. It wasn't like we held the ball for an extended period of time and then scored.

On the upside, I believe I was the first person to hype Davies in this thread.

Jesucristo, after watching the highlights it's even more discouraging. You'd think Bradley would understand the importance of some kind of defensive pressure by now. Especially against an opportunistic team that relies on chance rather than tactics, like Mexico.
