he wasn't exactly a bench warmer, but daniel fish was on the team pre-season but got cut because they had too many people on the roster.

that never happens because individually an interception is way more important than having the offense start closer.

You've never seen a defensive player in your life bat down a ball instead of trying to make a pick, no matter the circumstances, with the only exception being end of half and end of game Hail Mary's

Well, the most reliable way to make sure that a ball doesn't make it into the wide receiver's hands is to catch it yourself. If you simply try to bat it down there's a risk (however small) of a receiver being able to get to the ball before it hits the ground (perhaps you accidentally tip the ball upward sending it floating).

So I don't think it's just individual achievement causing this, there's also a sense of the most reliable way to end the play.

That's where Czajkowski kicked the ball off to so far this season, and Ojala is the 2nd kicker. He got a few in against Murray State.

OMG how many times does it need to be said that they were trying to pooch kick AWAY from the guy that got the ball in the first quarter and returned it so far up field?

TOB said this numerous times and even said that they considered kicking it out of bounds every kickoff but that pooch kicking gave us time to get downfield and tackle their 2nd return man.

THEY PURPOSELY KICKED IT SHORT

and if you cannot realize that, you are dumb and need to stop watching football and posting in Sports talk.

^^ yeah, after a certain point but not to begin with. The stats don't really look awful but our special teams coverage letting their returner bounce off like pinball makes it look a lot worse. Need a starting field position chart for the other team.

^ if the blockers in front of him keep people off of him and he doesn't try to roll right into a defender with that rugby shit.

you can't really use the Pitt numbers up there in any statistical study

they were kicking short on purpose to keep it away from whatshisname, who ran them back like woah in the first quarter/half

nvm, didnt see JT3Bucky's post
or any thereafter apparently

if you can't high kick it past the 25 or 30 then you might as well kick it out of bounds.

They were trying to force a fair catch -- they didn't want to kick it any further than the 25. I still think it's a good idea if Cz can get a little more height on the ball.

Could be worse I guess. My Bama special teams on NCAA 10 sucks balls. My kicker gets it to the 10 or 15 and then allows a kickoff return for TD per game.

Pittsburgh is number 8 in the AP poll, 9 in the Harris, 9 in the Coaches', and number 12 in the BCS.

How the hell did we beat them?

1) Russel Wilson had an awesome firstsecond half
2) Our defense was decent b/c nobody had figured out how to beat it senseless yet. Once Wake Forest exposed us Mike Archer didn't adjust for shit and has gotten us ass raped ever since.

I think Cincinatti would lay waste to any ACC team, but the rest of the big east would not be > our top teams (VT, Miami, GT. )

Clemson and Pitt seem like similar teams to me.

Why does my brain seem to be making this connection and thus concluding we even have a shot at winning this game.

I hate myself for setting me up like this for mega fail on saturday. I need to make sure the food stays warm somehow so that during halftime i can just leave and eat again. ha. It's gonna get nasty!!!11

CJ Spiller >>>>>>> Pitt's backs

The level of vulnerability of our secondary has been exposed since the Pitt game.

CJ Spiller is definitely better, but the Dion Lewis from Pitt is certainly no slouch. He's going to be a great one by the time he leaves.

I think the biggest differences are that Pitt has a better QB and Clemson has more speed on defense.
