I gotta say, I'm not sure where many more wins are going to come from this year. Cincy is a decent team, nothing more. Wake is a bad team. Where does that leave us? Could turn even more ugly this year...

The season is really starting to feel like Amato's last year, but of course we haven't lost to an Akron-type team yet (but we do have Central Michigan coming up).

Fellas, we have the real potential for our defense and running game to (seriously?) improve once we get some guys back.

^why, whatever are you talking about? We can't win with all most of our big playmakers out injured, and clearly this is Tom's fault so we should fire him. That's the only way we can improve.

Maddox played awful. I was rooting for the guy, but his instincts aren't there. Manning would've helped out a lot in that game, keeping Collaros under pressure and in the pocket.

Also, I'm thinking Audie Cole is a much better OLB than inside. He's got great speed and instincts, but he still can't tackle worth a damn. That's the main thing a MLB needs to do.

Getting Sweezy, Rieskamp, Teal, etc back is defintiely going to help, but we're not a good defense even with those guys.

Lastly, something is just missing with this team -- there's no fire, no "it." Seems like they're going through the motions out there ... there's no fight. It's downright depressing to watch. You can talk about injuries/leadership, but at some point, it goes back to TOB

So....the offense is hurt too then, right? The O-line improvement we were all promised is only not happening because they're all...injured? The wide receivers are dropping passes because the starters aren't there? You're right. It all makes perfect sense now.

When the defense is hurt you keep them off the field with lengthy possessions. Only issue...we can't do that.

Getting our D-line starters isn't going to make Archer stop putting Amerson and CJ Wilson 10 yds off the ball on every play. Amerson has the skill set to match up one on one, but Archer refuses to let him...

This. Our offense was atrocious and had short 3 and out possessions, and if they weren't three and out then the drive was kept going with passing plays. No good running game to help keep the clock running and keep the defense off of the field.

and ^This. God damn I hate our defense coaches.

You do realize the playclock is the same length regardless of whether the game clock is moving or not.

The problem is in college football you need an athlete at qb, not just a passer.

Glennon might make the NFL for all I know, but hes not going to have a ton of success at this level putting points on the board until he gets much better at reading defenses because he takes too many sacks.

Our defense is horrible. Without nate Irving our scheme has no chance to succeed.

So this is what, the third year out of four that the team has been quickly hit with lots of injuries to key players.

That's a trend, how does that happen? I don't remember having this problem with our previous coaches. What is it that's being done or not being done that's so rough on the players?

/It's not like these are happening in games either. These are practice injuries.

Shit happens one season, maybe two. Moderately healthy teams should be the rule instead of the exception.

Has TOB changed strength coaches since getting here?

That's this year, I wonder how the first half of the season injury numbers stand up over a 4 year period. Including last year and excluding last year.

Correlation doesn't imply causation

It could be that the practice field was built on an ancient Indian burial ground.

It could be that NC State is ranked #1 in shitty luck.

I could keep going..

It was here that a member of ROTC banged this decent looking ginger and taped it and disseminated it worldwide. People thought they performed so well, they got a standing ovation the next time they were seen. Knowing their life's purpose fulfilled, the couple later transferred to spread the love to other schools."

Yeah but you are just talking out of your ass. Maybe it's the schemes we run. Maybe its the fact that we recruit 2-3* and they just get destroyed. Maybe its having to practice in the heat when other teams practice in the comfort of AC. Lots of fucking possibilities here other than just spouting shit based on conjecture.

you made yourself look worse again... facepalm

not about AWARENESS... its about execution and knowing what/if your players can handle the balance and scripting custom routines player by player. or does he just say "OK ALL LBS bench 250 ten times before ALL LBS squatting 500 twenty times"

we dont know the exact problem with ncsu but... injuries can definitely be directly linked the s&c coach. you will not be allowed to say its impossible on this message board, take that ignorance to IC

i mean... is this making any sense to you

You fickle assholes were screaming "Fire TOB" after the injury plagued 2009 season, then promptly worshiped him after he tied the school's best season record last year."

I remember blaming him for only tying that record last year. Two of our losses were pathetic. We had a complete roster with sr leadership and stars on both sides. The stars aligned last year and we will never have a team with more talent. Thats the peak. I had seen enough of him asfter last year honestly...and that was before this summer....

All I have to go by is last year where wilson destoryed that defense. 14 points is NOT good. Just because you pass on every down and rack up yards from two big plays does not equate to a good night. ESPECIALLY when you throw two costly picks. It was an awful night on both sides of the ball.
