fire everyone. the catweb is on fullblown meltdown right now. yeah i was trying to get to 21 quick but thats not why i only won by 7(i can play that style just as well as a slower style). I executed poorly but that probably had more to do with flastates insta pass rush. you also kicked my ass in the first half with the qb scrambling and a big run on the one play i blitzed.

overall, you just played smart and didn't turn the ball over. you played to keep it close as opposed to trying to win which would've prolly gotten you blown out. I only recall you making 2 risky throws the whole game and one got picked the other i dropped. congrats on the moral victory.

Here's how it went down

E Man comes out gunzz a-blazing, four and five-receiver sets, throwing deep to the edge every snap. His first TD came on 60-YAC pass when my dipshit DB ran in front of the receiver and there was no one over the top. I respond by breaking off a 50-yard rush up the middle to even the score. I drew him offside on each of my first two offensive snaps, so I guess that's the reason for his pissy little post earlier.

E Man leads a pretty nice drive to take the lead back, passing all the way. He certainly knows his pass plays and my DBs are certainly functionally retarded. He had me pretty frustrated here because I couldn't stop him at all. I evened it again at 14 with a balanced drive ending in a 40-yard bomb to my slot receiver. E Man tried his darndest to showcase his awesome user pick skills here but failed hard. He scored again on a 25-yard pass to his HB to end the first quarter.

I start the second by driving deep, but a sack on second down kills my momentum and I settle for a FG. 21-17 UK.

This is where we both made some pretty great adjustments. He started luring me into my money hot route only to swat the pass away, and I started pressing his receivers and bringing pressure from my corners. Shortly after I sacked him three straight downs his QB started dropping back to the edge of the play-like-a-bitch zone.

Defensive struggle the rest of the way, I drove to the five right before the half only to have a slant over the middle intercepted by robo-MLB. He added a FG in the fourth and had a pretty great punt to kill any chance at a miracle drive to end it.

I totally shut down his run attempts in the second (there were zero run attempts in the first). He seemed to have called a pretty good game on defense (offensively it was horseshit), but the two biggest plays had nothing to do with his user-controlled prowess. The aforementioned MLB INT was huge, and third down pass over the middle on my next to last drive hit my receiver in the fucking
facemask.

tldr; E Man was a solid opponent, we were pretty even matched. Had either of us made adjustments sooner we would have won easily.

^ Manuel never bootlegged, never scrambled outside the pocket. Every rush was up the middle after looking down each of my receivers. His <4.0 YPC speaks to his general ineffectiveness on the ground. Put a spy on him or something, hoss.

when someone has the florida states and alabamas and blitzes with press, it literally takes 3 seconds for the wrs to get off the line. you have to drop back more than 5 or you will get sacked everytime. Thats more you than me because I don't move the qb at all unless the other person does something drastic. I could see why you are mad about it though because if i dont drop back a few steps, theres no way to not get sacked. Theres something for everything.

Couple things

1. Football is cat-and-mouse, there's a counter to everything, yes. My issue is those counters that border on exploiting the AI, such at 10-step drops from the shotgun. You don't like me bringing six everytime? Don't stay five wide. Leave a TE or someone in the backfield to block. Let's play football, not video game bullshit.
2. I never "pounded" RB. I hit it exactly once, it worked both times, and I probably did it three or four more times the rest of the game.
3. The false start on the fourth down? I was 4-and-1 at your 49, I had no intention of going for that. That time I DID pound RB, knowing it would get me a first down or more room to punt. Lest you forget that punt went out at the six.
4. Do you know what the fuck a nanoblitz is? I controlled a d-lineman every single down. Maybe twice I took an OLB who was blitzing already. Never moved anyone before the snap. Perhaps, though, you can explain why you were pulling corners and safeties into the box constantly in the first half.

This is where I'd drop the mic and walk off if we weren't on the internet.

jamming wrs and blitzing is more absurd than having 5 wrs on the field because it is virtually impossible in real life. No block int he world will get wrs off the line with a 6 man blitz. You know this you just refuse to play coverage because you failed at it so now you want to turn it on me as a deep dropper.

If I play a man defense they will match a guy on one side of the field up with someone on the other side so I will get him and drag him over. If I play zone there is a glitch where the corner from one side of the field will take off running into the box or downfield on his own. I usually get him and control him for the play at that point. Never blitz him though.

Miller got hurt in the 1st half with a dislocated finger and didnt return till the 2nd half. That didnt matter because the 1st play James went up the middle for a 97 yard touchdown. Harris played alright, nothing special, but im not so quick to pull him anymore.

The computer is pretty gawd awful when it comes to playing with GTech. If you are down 3 TDs and on your goal line, would you run a wingback pitch? they were so lucky I missed the tackle in the endzone. GTech's qb also threw 3 ints.

I see Ernie is kicking my ass in recruiting.

Virginia is up next week. Miami is unranked this week, but at 5-2 with a blow out victory of the #21 team in the nation, and barely losing to UK and WVU...Miami should crack the top 25

The time is ok for user games but too long for cpu games not to expect crazy scores

to make matters worse the cpu plays dumber when they get down big and throw even more ints. running up the middle which is what you should do to run out the clock also happens to be the most effective thing in the game. ecu ran no huddle spread the whole game


it would be nice if injuries were on so people would take backs out from getting hurt but you could have 2nd and 3rd string hbs running at some point.

as far as recruiting goes, i always have tended to spend 1-3 hours on 35 different recruits, rather than focus it on a smaller group with a higher chance of landing them, but im gonna try Earnie's FAQ style next season

In the past even when i had LSU and ND, I still only went after 10-20 guys. I never even bothered putting more than that on my board because I could never find more guys than that to fit into my system and I don't want to take any non standout players unless i absolutely have to. That gives you a better chance at having A+ playing time grades each season. This year it seems the recruiting has changed and I have failed miserably with kentucky and nebraska although i have a lot of guys 1st.

It's like FSU is a totally different team playing against the CPU. Things click pretty well in user games, and I'm rolling along in my State dynasty. But CPU games with FSU, Manuel just goes full retard. Every pass is under or overthrown by 10 yards and receivers usually can't get open anyway. And goddamn the run blocking is so bad. Blockers just running past defenders. Sometimes this game seems really, really broken.

This is the 3rd offense. I totally understand what he's going through though. Back when I was like 10, I used to quit when things weren't going my way. 989 AI was some serious bullshit and Holt would always pull his hamstring so I'd just reset so I could win. I'm also sure he wouldn't mind if we quit on him in a game just as long as some reasonable ai bullshit or picking of the wrong playbook had occurred.
