you look across the league and you will see that over half the starting quarterbacks are 6'-6". The two starting quarterbacks in the six foot range are Russell Wilson and Drew Brees, who are both extremely accurate quarterbacks. I'd hardly consider that debunking sub-6' gunslinger quarterbacks as being at a disadvantage.

[Edited on January 9, 2014 at 12:02 AM. Reason : did you watch him play? he chunked the ball into coverage and his receivers bailed him out a lot.]

Career averages of 300 ypg passing and nearly a 3:1 TD/INT ratio in the SEC.

But Blake Bortles almost beat South Carolina that one time.

^ You do realize that he's the same height as Aaron Murray and 2 inches shorter than Bridgewater right? I don't remember either of those guys ever catching a "too short" rap like Johnny.

Take out a ruler and look at how small 2" actually is. You really think that's the difference between making it as a quarterback? It's pretty naive if you do.

of course I watched him play

he threw those balls into coverage because he could

you don't get bailed out into completing 70% of your passes

[Edited on January 9, 2014 at 12:05 AM. Reason : bailed out into? whatever.]

Without looking, name the #2 wideout on aTm.

[Edited on January 9, 2014 at 12:08 AM. Reason : since he's got elite talent all over the field and all]

you can get away with shit like that in college. NFL defenses will make you pay for it.

I don't doubt that he'll get a starting job somewhere; there are enough teams in desperate need of a quarterback. Turnover machines like Matt Schaub were still able to start in this league. I just don't see him being durable enough to hold up more than 2-3 seasons. He reminds me a lot of Michael Vick; super athlete, but horrible decision making that will lead to lots of turnovers and injuries.

that turns off some pro scouts

who said anything about elite receivers? the only thing I thought was elite about the supporting crew was the offensive line.

what?

until his awful season this year, he was one of the more efficient QB's in the league

it's now pretty apparent that you're a total "Talking Head Guy"

he didn't get benched; he got injured. they just made the decision to leave Case Keenum as the starter even after Schaub got healthy again.

[Edited on January 9, 2014 at 12:44 AM. Reason : he also had pick sixes in four consecutive games prior to getting injured.]

what are you even arguing?

did you not see the "until his awful season this year"?

please, get back to explaining how completing 70% of ones passes makes them inaccurate

Houston will draft a QB this year for sure, the only question is will any of the top guys impress them enough to warrant the top pick, or will someone try to move up to get a player they want and the Texans can move back and take a QB later.

I'd say Manziel has a higher ceiling than Bridgewater, but a much lower floor too. It's almost Luck vs. RGIII but to a lesser extent. Bridgewater is your proto-typical NFL QB that coaches like because he's solid all-around and is a safer pick. Manziel has the intangibles of Tebow as far as leadership/charisma, but Manziel has baggage/immaturity(off the field).

I wouldn't say Manziel had "elite skill players" around him, but I personally think I'd go with Mike Evans over Sammy Watkins as the best WR in the draft(esp. if I were the Panthers getting 1st choice). Also how often does a QB in college end up playing with 2 first-round OTs in the same draft? Pretty impressive.

Ideally Manziel wouldn't be asked to start his first year(Rodgers/P-Riv style), but he's likely going to be a top 10 pick unless he just bombs interviews(not likely). He'll be starting for some team next year, and more than likely a bad team at that. Hopefully he ends up on a team that will format the offense to fit his skillset(so not Houston).

I am not sold on Manziel just like I wasnt sold on RGIII. The NFL just eats guys like this up when a 300 lb defense end is just as fast as you those plays that worked in college get you killed in the NFL. I agree he can throw the ball better than Tebow but so could RGIII and we see how that turned out. I think someone will draft him more for an instant bump in ticket sales than anything else.

You're entitled to your opinion, but that's just wrong man. Watkins is in a different class altogether.

Manziel is going to be the most unfairly scrutinized player to come out since Cam. People are going to tear the guy down, but two years from now it will be a bunch of articles about how he is "surprising" the league.

Yeah Watkins when he's focused and healthy is ridiculous. His freshman year was insane, got hurt his soph year, fell off the radar, and came back better this year, but was inconsistent. If he can get back physically to where he was as a freshman, he has AJ Green type talent.

I do think Evans will be a solid reciever too in the mold of an Andre Johnson (maybe not as productive), but big and physical, not afraid to run across the middle like Boldin or Nicks.

Graham is probably just mad that Seattle's defensive strategy is pass interference every play
