not a licensing expert, but pretty sure State isn't really involved beyond collecting money off any actual sales this "Gone Rogue" company gets while using State's logos

also, here's this from a recent Gott interview:
Quote :
"Do you call him Cat or Anthony? What do you call him?

Cat Daddy. I call him the Cat Daddy, and I want him to play like the Cat Daddy."

as I understand it, there's generally a "don't do stupid shit with our logos" clause built into licensing agreements. NCSU has either signed off on these, or is too lazy to follow up on their intellectual property use. I suspect it's a little of Column A and a little of Column B

didn't realize that. actually looked up our licensing stuff since I looked it up years ago but not since... looks like we outsource the bulk of it to some company called LRG that handles the licenses and approves the products. it sounds like they would be signing off on most things rather than State.
Quote :
"What products require client approval?
Any high risk product such as consumables, motorized vehicles, some sporting equipment, etc. require client approval. Any products referencing lotteries, games of chance, firearms, sexually-oriented products, tobacco or alcoholic beverage promotion require client approval as well. "

LRG has like 200+ schools as clients, but most are pretty small-time

https://gonerogueapparel.com/state-team-list.html?team=197&tn=North+Carolina+State+Wolfpack&lg=

i would buy one of those "rise up to the fray" shirts, though. also, an arm sleeve. because everyone needs an arm sleeve.

Not a fan of the camo one, but I would wear the one at the top of the page.

Then again, no one has ever complemented me on my keen sense of fashion.

i mean, we could spend three more days rehashing what each of us thinks State needs to do to make the tournament until we have another game and do that all over again

Obviously they dont know what they are talking about; No way the committee puts us in a potential rematch (WVU) and a conference opponent (UND) on the first weekend. Im pretty sure they delay conference matchups as much as possible (at least the second weekend).
Lunardi has us in the play-in game against Tulsa, and then getting Maryland (which I can definitely see happening).

I don't think Maryland is as good as advertised. You just don't go from being mediocre in the ACC to the top of the world in another conference and have gotten THAT MUCH better.

With that said, I think we are better than these bubble teams and if we go 4-1 and win an ACCT game we should be sitting pretty with a fair seed.

We need to be a seeded team, F all this stupid play in Game stuff...we run into buzzsaw teams way too early.

I'd hardly call those Xavier, Temple, and Saint Louis teams we've played over the last couple years buzzsaws

Well, we beat Xavier if you didn't see the game.

More referring to Kansas and Georgetown even though we beat them.

The year we played Gtown and Kansas we weren't involved in a play-in game, we were an 11 seed. I'm not sure we can put ourselves above the 10 or 11 seed this year. Even if we did we would end up on the 8/9 line, which means a #1 buzzsaw in the second third round.

Not really sure how Kansas and Georgetown are relevant to us being in a play-in game, but I guess I'm the one not up on things since I mentioned Xavier, one of the two teams we played during the only year we were in the first four.

well, with the play in game it isn't so much running into buzzsaw opponents. your first game is against a pretty even opponent - you're both in the play in game. your next game will be vs a 5 or 6 seed. again - pretty winnable game although you'd obviously be the underdog. you could potentially see a 3 seed in the 2nd round, but that's the worst you would see that early.

the worst part of the play in game is fatigue. we'd be coming out of the ACCT (hopefully having played multiple games) then looking at potentially playing 3 games in 6 days if you win the first two. that's just a lot of games in a few days when you include the ACCT. i think last season we finished the season by playing 5 games in 9 days or something like that.

That's why they moved the ACC tournament up to end on Saturday instead of Sunday this year

"a UNC win would mean a true contender/above average ACC bubble team."

I think another win against a top-20 team (if UNC loses to Duke) or especially a top-10 team (if UNC beats Duke) takes us off the bubble and puts us solidly "in."

But, it's UNC, who somehow beat us at home in our best/their worst years. So while hopeful, I'm not super optimistic.

Reading the comments, it looks like whoever wrote this must have left off David Thompson at first before he got called out and then corrected it. So he's more than likely an idiot or did no research at all.

Hodge wouldn't even sniff the second team. But, hes certainly above Webb, Hickson , and Shackelford. What a horrible list.
